In Mortal Shell 2, your offense relies on choosing the right melee armament for your playstyle. There are 8 main melee weapons found across Fallgrim and beyond, and the best part is that none of them are missable. You can explore the map and obtain them whenever you want, even after beating the final boss, until before New Game+. Merrick in Marrow Keep does sell weapon maps that mark their general locations, but you can save your Coins and follow our guide below instead.

Combat Mechanics & Weapon Systems
- Unique Movesets: Weapons define your attack strings and range. There are no duplicate weapon subtypes or shared animations across the arsenal.
- No Stamina Restrictions: Battle relies on aggressive pressure rather than stamina management, which lets you swing freely until interrupted by damage taken.
- Resolve Generation: Melee strikes generate Resolve. Heavy attacks and specific combos build Resolve faster, which fuels your abilities.
- Tarstone Modification: Weapons can be slotted with Tarstones at the Tarforge to add elemental buffs, stats, or new command inputs (such as charged light attacks).
Weapon upgrades take a mix of Coins and smithing materials that get rarer as you level up. Tarforge can also be used for other equipment upgrades, so try to unlock its features early instead of saving it for the end game. Also, always double check the Tarstone compatibility before spending Tarcores, since not every upgrade works on every weapon.
