Obsidian Hammer is a slow, gold-trimmed blunt weapon in Mortal Shell 2 that trades speed for stagger and raw damage. It drops from the boss guarding the Obsidianite Mines, a dungeon located in the Ruins of Mammon. This guide shows how to get the Obsidian Hammer by getting into Obsidianite Mines, its upgrade materials, and supported Tarstones for this weapon.

How to Get the Mortal Shell 2 Obsidian Hammer (Weapon Location)
![]()
The easiest starting point for a first trip is the Outskirts of Mammon Beacon in Mammon. Access to this part of the region requires clearing the corruption blocking the southern jump pad of Marrow Keep.

From the beacon, follow the path leading down while watching out for floor traps along the way. Past the small enemy camp, continue down across the wooden bridge and follow the path to the left, descending toward the mining area.

You will eventually reach a Bone Gate. Use the jump pad to get to the other side through the gap, then keep walking past the miners and cross a few more bridges along the way until you reach the large quarry in the Deserted Slums.

From there, go upstairs, then take a left turn at the end and follow the wooden walkway.
Note: If you’d rather skip the run, Merrick in Marrow Keep sells the weapon’s map for 1300 Coins.

Once you have reached the large mining complex, look for the central pit in the lower section. The entrance to the Obsidianite Mines is found down in this area. The path is packed with miners and other enemies, but clearing everything is not necessary. I normally run past the groups that are not blocking the route and save resources for the dungeon and boss.
Enter the mines and take the elevator down.
Explore the Obsidianite Mines

Instead of wandering through long hallways, keep in mind that the Obsidianite Mines are built around vertical drops. Look for the right ledges and platforms to safely make your way to the bottom.
Exit the elevator and walk through the initial rooms to the seemingly vacant area. The floor will collapse under your weight, dropping you on the level below. Once at the bottom, continue downward through the ledges and chasms. You will make multiple controlled drops before reaching the bottom section, where a jump pad on the dungeon’s floor will take you into the boss arena.
Defeat Prophet of Profane Infinities

Prophet of Profane Infinities is the boss guarding the Obsidian Hammer in Obsidianite Mines. He uses heavy, slow attacks that are way easier to read than the quick enemies you’re used to in Mammon. Just keep your distance and punish him after he misses a swing. Don’t get greedy with your combos—if you overcommit, you’ll likely die and have to run back through the whole mine again.
Defeat Prophet of Profane Infinities and you will receive the Obsidian Hammer as a reward. The boss also drops Paradoxical Scripture.
Obsidian Hammer Weapon Details

The Obsidian Hammer is a heavy blunt weapon with a slower attack style and strong stagger potential. Its ability, Heavy Stomps, demands commitment; the damage is substantial, but the weapon’s weight demands accurate positioning that faster tools don’t require.

Best Tarstones for the Obsidian Hammer
Clerik’s Stone is a strong general combat pick because the Hammer already favors deliberate heavy attacks, and its Heavy Combo Finisher adds another powerful payoff.
Colossus Stone is the weapon-specific ability Tarstone. It spends Resolve to drive the hammer into the ground and send shockwaves through nearby enemies, making it particularly worth it when multiple targets are within range.
For infusions, Torpor Stone brings Stasis, while Wretchcaller’s Stone applies Trauma. Both fit the Hammer well because they provide utility to a moveset that already relies on big individual hits.
