ARC Raiders Dust on the Wires Quest Guide

How to survive a single round cross map jog on Spaceport and earn a fax machine.

Shani has lost contact with a reconnaissance squad on the Spaceport, and you are tasked with retracing their steps to find out their whereabouts in the Dust on the Wires quest in ARC Raiders. With six objectives to complete, it’s one of the lengthier errands in ARC Raiders that spans nearly the entire width of the map.

The trouble on the trouble, you must complete all Dust on the Wires objectives in a single raid because if you extract early or are dropped before securing the final item, the complete quest will reset, and you’ll again have to start from scratch. Since you are required to carry an item back to Sprenaza to conclude the quest, we would highly recommend that you deploy with Safe Pocket unlocked, as having it will prevent a stray sniper or ARCs from wasting 20 minutes of legwork.

Visit Any Field Depot on the Eastern Side of Spaceport

Although there are more than field depots on the eastern part of the map, the one we’re going to visit is directly south of the East Plains Warehouses and east of Rocket Assembly, just northeast of the East Elevator. All you have to do is enter the small, weathered depot, and the first objective will check off.

Use the Field Radio to Transmit the Scout Group’s Last Log to Shani

Inside the field depot, go to the only desk placed in the corner and interact with the computer terminal to resend the log. Transmitting the data will signal Shani and update your quest tracker with coordinates to a scout relay tower.

Interact with the Terminal in the Old Raider Tower North of the Maintenance Hangar

With the first report sent, the next task will be at a Raider Tower southwest of the map near the Maintenance Hangar. You’ll want to head outside the main facility walls to the rocky perimeter west of Vehicle Maintenance and just north of the hangar.

Scan the hillside until you spot the rusty observation tower, then clear out any wandering Pop or Fireflies around the base before you climb.

Take the stairs up to the enclosed cabin at the top and interact with the computer to relay the second half of the scouts’ report to Shani.

Find Traces of the Scout Patrol Near the Maintenance Hangar

Right after the Raider Tower’s log is sent, Shani will flag a disturbance point right outside the southeast end of the Maintenance Hangar. Climb down the tower and follow the objective marker south down the road toward the hangar building.

On the slope down, you’ll come across an overturned cart, scorched earth, and supplies scattered everywhere—it’s obvious a fight went down here. Interact with the Transmit Location when prompted to fill Shani in on the ambush site.

Search the Remains Left by the Scouts

For the final piece of evidence, take a few steps past the transmission point toward the overturned trolley with a blue tarpaulin and a barrel, and interact with it to Search for Clues.

Searching the trolley will drop the Scout Patrol Note you need to bring back to Shani. Pick up the note, open your inventory, and drag it into your Safe Pocket.

Deliver the Scout Patrol Note to Shani

Next, head to the nearest extraction point or Raider Hatch to leave for Speranza, then hand over the item to Shani to complete the quest and claim these rewards:

  • 8,000 XP
  • Fax Machine (Backpack Attachment Cosmetic)

Finishing Dust on the Wires will also unlock the next Shani quests, Waking the Grid and Fragmented Logs.
