In Where Winds Meet, the Eastern Herald is the in-game journalistic faction/system where you can draft and write articles, while The Realm Digest (also known as World’s Digest in the Jianghu Daily) is the newspaper or publication where these articles are printed and read. The Eastern Herald is also a daily newspaper activity where players can participate in daily quizzes and polls for rewards.
How to Unlock Eastern Herald
The Eastern Herald is a multiplayer activity in Where Winds Meet, found in the Wandering Paths menu, that reports on current events and affairs through an in-game newspaper. The Today’s Topic section includes a daily quiz with multiple rewards gated behind the correct answer to a question.
To unlock this newspaper mechanic, complete the Correspondent: Eastern Herald Exploration Quest. The quest will also instruct you on how to publish articles in the public newspaper.
- Head to the Caomen Avenue Boundary Stone on the eastern side of Kaifeng City.
- Enter the fairgrounds.
- Go left toward the bridge and speak with Qiao Yize to start the quest.
- Once the quest is complete, the feature will appear at Wandering Paths > Casual Co-Op > Leisure > Eastern Herald.
- Open the World’s Digest tab in the Jianghu Daily to read the newspaper, follow the daily news, browse user-submitted articles, and answer the daily Prize Quiz to earn rewards.
The Jianghu Daily has a second tab titled “Floral Annals Untold“. It’s gossip shared within your social circle with no rewards.

- You can attach photos to your submission before posting it.
- Approved articles are eligible to be featured in World’s Digest at 21:00 GMT.

Inside World’s Digest, you’ll find the Today’s Topic box. On most days it’s a Daily Topic, and on select days it becomes a Prize Quiz.

There’s also a joke version at Nine Mortal Ways Base called the Eastern Hear-Rat, placed on a table just east of the Boundary Stone. It presents its own quiz, but offers no rewards.
Note: If you miss a day, you can still go back and answer previous questions before the week rolls over, and you’ll still get credit. So don’t panic if you forget to log in for a day or two.
