You get plenty of character creation choices in Where Winds Meet, with an impressive amount of control over facial anatomy and fine details but hits a wall when it comes to hair color. This guide explains how to get basic and advanced hair dyes and use them on dyeable hairstyles in your Wardrobe.

Can You Change Your Hair Color in Where Winds Meet?

Character creation in Where Winds Meet gives you fine control over facial structure, beards, and eyebrows, but limits your head hair to pitch black. Smart Customization cannot override this, and resetting your character to start over won’t work to change the hair color either. You need to use consumable dye items to unlock custom hair tones through post-creation gameplay systems or the cosmetic store.

Before dyeing, check your hairstyle since you can’t recolor the default starter cuts, and to apply dye, you’ll have to equip an eligible style that shows a small multicolored brush or color swatch in the bottom right corner of its icon. Styles missing this marker lack dye support. Dyeable styles unlock as you earn Elegance Points, purchase sets, or collect unlocked cosmetics throughout the game.

Coloring in Where Winds Meet is split into two tiers based on color intensity:

  • Basic Hair Dye (Inkshade Hairdye): Unlocks natural, earthy, pastel, and muted tones.
  • Advanced Hair Dye (Timeless Hairdye): Unlocks bright, saturated, and neon level colors.

Every dye job consumes 10 units of the selected dye to apply and save.
