No more tedious treks.

Portcrystals in Dragon’s Dogma 2 are lifesavers for getting around especially when you have to make consistent travels between large game areas. There is one such fixed Portcrystal in Vernworth which is an important fast travel point when you have a Ferrystone in hand, but it can be easy to walk right past without noticing if you don’t know the exact location. So, this guide explains how to find Vernworth Portcrystal in Dragon’s Dogma 2 to make your travel time savvy and easy.

What are Portcrystals in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Dragon's Dogma 2 Portcrystal

Portcrystals, in general, are the magical stones that allow you to travel across the land to previously visited locations in no time. Unlike the typical fast travel systems in most open-world games, Dragon’s Dogma 2 has a different mechanic for fast travel.

There are only two fixed Portcrystals in DD2 with one we are finding in Vernworth and the other is in Harve Village, not far from Vernworth to the west. This makes the Vernworth crystal incredibly valuable, especially early on. Unlike portable crystals you can move around, this one is always in the same spot. That means no matter what part of the world you’re exploring such as Battahl, Misty Marshes or wherever, you can always teleport straight back to Vernworth.

You can set and remove up to 10 Portcrystals at different areas on the map as per your convenience. You can find the mobile Portcrystals in the hidden areas, earn as quest rewards, or buy with Wyrmslife Crystals from different vendors. As every fast travel requires Ferrystones, you should have a good supply of these items in your inventory. They’re found in loot, bought from merchants (though often pricey), or collected as quest rewards.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Vernworth Portcrystal Location

Head over to the Merchant Quarter inside Vernworth; you’ll find the Vernworth Portcrystal in Dragon’s Dogma 2 right outside the building that houses the Grand Riftstone of Vermund in the city center and close to the Vocation Guild. When approaching from the western end of the city, you’ll pass it before you hit the Vernworth Inn.

At first, the Portcrystal looks like a big ol’ stone monument – easy to ignore. But once you activate it, it lights up with a glowing purple hue and some magical symbols, so it becomes a lot more noticeable. From that point forward, it shows up on your map, making fast travel a breeze. For anyone hauling around a Ferrystone, this means you and your crew can return to Vernworth no matter where you are in the game, even if out on a mission. It’s saved my skin more than a couple of times, especially during the escort tasks.
