OSRS Smithing Calculator – Profit & XP Guide
This calculator helps you plan Smithing without guesswork. Set your level or XP, pick a goal, and see actions ranked by cost, profit, and actions needed using live GE prices.
- Enter your current and target (level or XP).
- Use Members filter and category chips to narrow options.
- Switch Pricing Mode: Mid (stable) or Margin (buy/sell spread).
- Enable GE tax to see realistic profits with the 2% tax and per-item cap.
- Gold bars at Blast Furnace with Goldsmith Gauntlets for strong XP per hour.
- Steel bars at Blast Furnace are solid for XP and often cheaper per XP than higher tiers.
- Platebodies are straightforward but can be pricey at higher metals—check total cost in the table.
- Cannonballs are AFK and usually profit, but XP is slow—great while doing other stuff.
- Blast Furnace halves coal for bars (steel, mithril, adamant, rune), which helps margins.
- Use Margin pricing if you actually flip: buy at low, sell at high. Otherwise stick to Mid.
- Normal furnace is 50% success on iron. Ring of forging makes it 100% (140 charges per ring).
- Blast Furnace also gives 100% success on iron. This tool accounts for ring charges and BF mode.
- Smithing actions auto-refresh from the OSRS Wiki in the background with a short cache.
- Prices update from the GE price API and are cached locally for reliability.
- GE tax calc includes the 2% rate and cap per item, so profit looks like reality.
