I bet you’ve been scaling mountains, crossing large open terrains, and battling some pretty wild creatures in Zelda TotK. You might have stumbled upon the complex Skyview Towers. These towers are like the hidden gems of Hyrule, each revealing a unique part of the map. Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower is one of the 15 Skyview Towers in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It is in the southwest of the Hyrule map, this tower reveals the grandeur of the Gerudo Highlands, from its towering peaks to its wide open skies.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower Location
The Gerudo Highlands are very chilly areas. Seriously, you might feel like you’ve stepped into a freezer. So, toss on the comfortable warm gear, or get some warming food or elixirs ready.
This tower is playing a sneaky game of hide and seek as it’s not easy to locate. From most parts of Hyrule, you can’t even see it. The only exception is the Gerudo Desert. So, swing by and activate the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower first. It’ll give you a much-needed vantage point and make your journey a whole lot easier.
Once you’re on the Gerudo Canyon Tower, look towards the direction of Rito Village. Gerudo Highlands Tower is perched on a plateau just south of the village but with a little shift to the east. You can totally paraglide most of the way there from the Gerudo Canyon Tower. Make sure to approach from the eastern side as it gives you the best route and a pretty scenic view. For those of you who like precise details (I see you, navigators!), here are the exact map coordinates: -3972, -1250, 0429.
How to Activate the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower in Zelda TotK
First, you might notice something odd; the tower’s entrance is nowhere in sight. The game’s nature decided to play a prank and buried it under a snow drift. But, no access on the surface means it’s time to think outside the box. Or in this case, underneath it! You’re going to want to find a spot to use your “Ascend” ability beneath the tower.
There’s a note placed in a nearby camp. It whispers about a cave but doesn’t give away the exact spot. Head to the same level as the tower and wander north along the cliff face – there’s your hidden cave. Venture inside, and you’ll find walls you can strike with a weapon that has a stone affixed to it. Keep smashing and moving forward until you hit a submerged river. There are some handy supplies around, so grab them.
Use the Ultrahand ability to grab the large board, put it in the water, and go on for a little ride. You’re heading straight for a waterfall that leads to another chamber. But worry not, use your paraglider to soar off and aim for the nearby beach. And, treasure hunters, there’s a chest hidden in a small tunnel siding with the beach wall.
Now, check your minimap. Do you see the scaffolding? That’s right below the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower. Grab the board you sailed in on, find another one on the beach, and craft yourself a makeshift raft.
Go to the exact spot above the tower icon, and that’s your cue; it’s Ascend time. Once you shoot up, head straight for the pedestal inside. Activating it unlocks the map for the area. Furthermore, you can launch into the sky whenever you want with the help of a wrap point.
