Situated in the rugged terrains of Hyrule, the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is one of the many epic Skyview Towers of the game. More importantly, it’s your way to unlock the mysterious sands and skies of the Gerudo Desert on your map as the tower overlooks the desert’s entrance. No more wandering, follow this walkthrough to reach and activate the Zelda TotK Gerudo Canyon Tower located in the Hyrule’s southwest end.

But before we move on towards the tower, make sure you’re stocked up with the needed items – and by that, I mean cooling elixirs, some delicious cold snacks, or swanky armor clothing that keeps the heat at bay. So, if you’re running a bit low on the cold stuff, no stress! Head on over to the icy plateau in the Gerudo Highlands to grab some of the meat and cook it up with the Safflina. Not only will you get a tasty treat, but you’ll also get that cooling effect to keep you frosty in the desert.

Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower Location - The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

First, head to the far southwestern end of Hyrule; if you spot the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower, you’re on the right track. From there, keep heading southwest unless you notice a tall mesa (kind of like a mountain platform) just southwest of the famous Great Plateau. Yes, that’s where our tower’s situated. The Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower in Zelda TotK had a bit of a makeover and is now a water-filled wonderland. But fear not, we’ve got the details on how to get through:

  • First Route: This one’s for those who like a scenic drive. Take the road going south from the Great Plateau’s west side, enjoy those bridge views, and then loop back up when you hit the end.
  • Second Way: If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous and want some air under your feet, this one’s for you. Take a leap of faith from the Hyrule Field tower, glide around the plateau a bit, and climb up on the plateau until you’re high enough. From there, glide south straight to the mesa and finish off with a climb to the top. Once you’re below the tower, there are some handy ladders and scaffolds on the cliffs. With a bit of climbing and determination, you’ll be on the tower spot.

If you need the precise coordinates, here are the numbers: -2438, -2182, 1370.

Activating the Gerudo Canyon Tower in Zelda TotK

When you reach the tower’s base, you’ll bump into the Sawson who is having a bit of elevator trouble. From Sawson’s location, scale up to those big old tower doors to reach its base, there’s a sweet stash of crafting materials there.

Link is using Ultrahand to move and place the metal crates

Your main quest here is to get that elevator moving; there is a hanging knob on the elevator platform ceiling, and you’ve got to hook up a counterweight to it. There are metal crates within the supplies that you need to use here.

Sawson moved up on elevator

With a little finesse and your trusty Ultrahand, attach that crate to the elevator. Once you’ve worked your way, the elevator starts working and Sawson will hitch a ride to the top, and the tower’s doors swing wide open.

Move comfortably over to that indoor pedestal. Give it a tap, and that’s it, the area map unveils. Activating this tower means you’ve got yourself a handy warp point. So whenever you’re feeling like soaring through the skies, you know where to go.
