Acquiring the Tunic of Memories in the game requires a calculated approach and a dash of adventure. You’ll need to interact with the Bargainer Statues, the guardians of hidden treasures, scattered across the vast expanse of the gaming realm. These statues serve a critical function—they unlock the pathway to the Tunic of Memories, amongst other invaluable assets in the game.

There are six of these Bargainer Statues concealed in the enigmatic Depths, making their discovery a challenging endeavor. However, the effort is rewarding—the key to unlocking the Tunic of Memories lies in locating all six of these statues. With each statue you encounter, a new item is added to your inventory until, finally, the Tunic of Memories materializes as the ultimate prize.

In case you find yourself at a dead-end, the main Bargainer Statue stationed at Lookout Landing can offer assistance. Of course, there’s no such thing as a free lunch, and the Statue will require a small offering of Poes in exchange for its guidance. As a tip from an expert, each Bargainer Statue is nestled beneath a prominent Goddess Statue.

  • Great Abandoned Central Mine: Your first stop is the Great Abandoned Central Mine. Plug in these coordinates -0780, -1902, -0565, and you’re there. The quick and better way is to dip into the Great Plateau North Chasm and go south until you hit the sweet spot.
  • Plains: The second statue calls the Plains home. The coordinates for this spot are 0450, -0802, -0471. Head over to Stakijat Lightroot, which is a stone’s throw away to the northeast. Just keep marching north and remember to keep an eye out for the boss, though.

  • Cliff: The fourth statue is a bit of a hide-and-seek champ. Kick-off at Uoyoyuik Lightroot and wander north to -1011, 2689, 0624. From there, get ready for some serious climbing. Pack a few stamina boosters because you have to put in some serious effort.
  • Wellspring of Power: Bargainer Statue Five is just a hop, skip, and a jump north of Akinatanis Lightroot. You’ll spot it on a little cliff by a waterfall. The GPS readout to reach this area are 3711, 2594, -0412.
  • Wellspring of Wisdom: Last but not least, Bargainer Statue Six is hanging out just north of Usukaz Lightroot. It’s pretty straightforward to find. Just go north from Usukaz, and you’ll find a circular platform. Hop off with your paraglider, and you’re there at 3851, -1332, -0858.

As you successfully discover each Bargainer Statue, you’ll find that they reward your efforts by unlocking a new armor piece. This rewarding hunt is your gateway to acquiring the elusive Dark Link armor, as well as the much-coveted Depths set. But, the biggest reward at the end of this quest is your desired Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Tunic of Memories. It’s important to note that this treasure won’t simply fall into your lap – the Bargainer Statues will trade it for 400 Poes.

Zelda TOTK Tunic of Memories Upgrade Requirements

As was the case in Breath of the Wild, you can also enhance the Tunic of Memories in The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, it’s worth noting that even at its highest level of upgrade, the base defense doesn’t quite reach the coveted 32 mark. Instead, it peaks at a base defense of 28. But if you’re a fan of this iconic armor and wish to power it up regardless, here’s what you’ll need:

Although the Tunic of Memories falls a bit short regarding battle protection when compared to the Champion’s Leathers, it still holds its own as a commendable armor piece. Regrettably, it doesn’t carry over the ability to view enemy health status as it did in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but it does serve as a delightful nod to Link’s traditional vibe for nostalgic players. If you’re still in pursuit of more armor pieces, rest assured that Tears of the Kingdom has an abundance of treasures awaiting your discovery.
