Savior Kills in Battlefield 6 counts when you kill an enemy who is actively damaging or about to kill one of your teammates. The game registers it as a “life saved,” but timing is everything. The system only counts it if your teammate was in immediate danger, which means the enemy has already started dealing damage or is seconds away from finishing the job. If you eliminate a random enemy who seems to threaten but hasn’t actually tagged your ally yet, the kill doesn’t qualify.
There are a couple of Battlefield 6 challenges that task you to score Savior Kills, including Protection Expert 1 (Get 30 Savior kills (30)) and Squad Deathmatch Challenge 2 (Savior kills in Squad Deathmatch (30)). The easiest way to spot this kill type is through the notification. You’ll see “Savior” or “Savior Kill” pop up next to your score feed along with a small XP bonus.
How Savior Kill Works in Battlefield 6

Battlefield’s tracking logic for Savior Kills is stricter than you’d expect. It checks a few things before deciding you’re a hero and not only a late bloomer:
- The enemy must be targeting or damaging a nearby teammate. The kill only counts if your teammate takes live fire, such as bullets, explosions, or melee swings. Just being spotted or aimed at isn’t enough.
- You must kill the attacker before your squad member dies. If your teammate dies a split second before you land the shot, the system treats it as a regular kill, not a Savior Kill.
- Distance matters. You need to be close enough that the game recognizes your intervention as direct assistance, generally within the same engagement zone.
If you shoot an enemy who’s hurting your teammate right now, and your buddy survives because of you, congratulations on securing a Savior Kill. If you’re one second too slow, Battlefield shrugs and says, “Nice try, but your friend has already respawned.” Assault and Support players benefit the most as they’re close to their squads, so every defensive burst or counterfire moment can trigger one.
Sometimes, you’ll save your teammate’s life but won’t secure a Savior Kill. That’s not your fault, but BF6’s Savior Kill logic is picky.
How to Get More Savior Kills in BF6

You don’t need to farm bot lobbies to get Savior Kills; play near your teammates, keep eyes on their flanks, and react fast when you see hit markers on your squadmate’s health bar. Squad Deathmatch and Conquest modes are better to get these kills, mainly around contested objectives where teammates remain under fire. Play support roles that keep you near allies, medics, engineers, ammo runners, and you’ll naturally catch more Savior Kill moments.
Guns like the M5A3, SGX, or the RPT-31 LMG help you delete attackers before your ally drops. The faster you end the fight, the more your Savior count will be. Even though Savior Kills are not as interesting as a 10-man killstreak or a sniper headshot from across the map, they’re an crucial mechanic of good Battlefield play.
