Who is Jahandar in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown?

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown Jahandar Boss

Jahandar in Prince of Persia: TLC is a creature that is something straight out of a myth. He’s got a lion’s body, bat wings, a scorpion tail, and ram horns. Furthermore, he also has eerie glowing eyes, a beard, and even sports some fancy jewelry. He’s one of the toughest creatures you’ll find in Mount Qaf and he’s not too happy about visitors either. When you face him, get ready for a real fight. He comes at you with everything – his claws, that scorpion tail, he even breathes fire, and charges like a bull. Moreover, he’s quick – you’ll need to be on your toes, ready to dodge and move at a moment’s notice.

What Do You Need to Prepare for this Boss Fight?

Before you go head-to-head with Jahandar, you’ve got to gear up with some key items and upgrades. You can snag these in the Lower City, either at the Magi Emporium or the Kaheva’s Forge. Here are some of the suitable ones:

  • Additional Healing Potion: Very useful for that extra boost in the fight – the Mage sells these for 500 Time Crystals.
  • Qays & Layla +1 Upgrade: This item boosts your twin swords – your main weapon against Jahandar. You can get this from Kaheva at the Forge for 325 Crystals and 1 Azure Damascus Ingot.
  • Athra Surge: This is a wicked time power that lets you unleash a massive slash. Not only does it deal damage, but it also stuns your enemies. You’ll find it at the Goddess Statue in the Lower City, but you’ll need to destroy all the purple orbs first.
  • Verethragna’s Smite: This surge item lets you call down a lightning bolt on your enemy. You can get your hands on this at the Goddess Statue in the Hyrcanian Forest, but only after you’ve completed the ‘Ancient Power Unearthed’ quest.

How to Kill Jahandar in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

For the first part of the battle, when he’s got about a third of his health, Jahandar will try to hit you with his claws and tail, and he’ll do this pounce move. Watch out for when he flies up, you can spot where he’s gonna land by tracking his shadow on the ground. Just slide out of the way from his AoE. Also, keep an eye on his attack when his eyes glow yellow – he’ll quickly turn around and charge you. Time it right and parry this attack to deliver some serious damage.

After a Third of His Health is Gone: At around a third of his health, he’ll halt for a classic wicked monologue while perched on a pillar. After his monologue, he plans to spice things up by using different attacks. He begins by casting a dark spell over you, symbolized by a bright purple orb. Both the bow and the chakram can be used to remove this.

Then there’s a tail attack where he slams his tail into the ground, leaving poison on the small area of the ground. If you look down near the poison, you should see a green flash; that’s when his tail will come out. To avoid this attack, you need to dodge to the side or roll under him to avoid the poison. You can also use Verethragna’s Smite to deal extra damage while he is charging.

Other than that, he will throw four poison arrows simultaneously coming from his tale. Jump and try to avoid them to get any damage. Remember to use your Athra surges as often as you can, particularly to thwart evil spells and other strikes. Aside from that, be sure to block those yellow eye or purple orb attacks.

The key to taking down Jahandar is about mastering the art of the parry, especially when he goes for that claw swipe. And don’t forget to use your time powers whenever they’re ready to go as they’re very helpful in this battle. Also, keep a close watch on your health bar. Those healing potions you’ve got? Don’t be shy about using them. Jahandar’s got a big health bar, so this isn’t going to be a quick takedown. Patience and persistence are your best friends here.
