Garment Design Shards are the items required to unlock alternate outfit cuts in Where Winds Meet. You can’t obtain them by exploration, drops, or events, but they are only available in the game’s seasonal economy. To alternate outfits like Enlightened Mind or Ephemeral Bloom, the shards make it happen. Here’s how to get Where Winds Meet Garment Design Shards and how to use them to change clothing into different styles.
How to Get Garment Design Shard in Where Winds Meet

You can only buy Garment Design Shards from the Season Shop, under the Appearance Exchange category. In the shop, the shard appears as a scroll-like Workshop Item, priced at 100 Jade Fish for one piece, with a weekly purchase limit of 2. Since Jade Fish is easy to stockpile and the 20,000 weekly earning cap is high, purchasing both shards every week isn’t expensive compared to other premium cosmetics, so there’s no reason to skip them if you like to collect outfits.
How to Use Garment Design Shard in Where Winds Meet
Once you have shards in inventory, head to the Tailoring menu inside Appearance → Workshop to use them and alter outfit styles, where the menu lists every outfit you can tailor to your preference. Currently, only a few sets have alternate cuts, and they all appear in this tab even if you haven’t acquired the outfit yet. Garment Design Shard permanently unlocks the outfit’s alternate style, which then lets you switch back and forth whenever you want without consuming more shards.
Tailoring doesn’t recolor outfits—that’s done through dyes. Shards strictly modify physical outfit variants, which can include:
- Shortened or lengthened sleeves
- Removed fabric layers or accessories
- Adjusted cloaks or shoulder pieces
- Clean vs. decorative appearance versions
Based on current availability, the following sets support clothing modification:
- Loyal Heart (M/F)
- Enlightened Mind (M/F)
- Ephemeral Bloom (M/F)
- Hidden Scent (M/F)
- Veiled Edge (M/F)
Only the parts of an outfit with variations appear in the tailoring list.
Inside the Workshop, accessories can also be repositioned, resized, or rotated. This includes cosmetic weapon placement, and you can have setups like dual-sword back mounts. The feature is separate from the shard system but found in the same customization interface.
