Add SourceVini Jr. Sprite is now available in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 as part of the Runners system. Like the football star’s Icon Series Outfit, this companion is part of the game’s FIFA World Cup themed content, but getting it is much harder.
To unlock the Fortnite Vini Jr. Sprite, you should prepare yourself for some grind since it’s not like the Batman Sprite where you can track down an NPC, take them out, and call it a day. Vini is a Mythic Sprite with a very low drop rate, which means you’re largely at the mercy of the loot pools and RNG.
But there’s a good way to go about this to skip the grind of running around the map aimlessly. Here’s where to find the Vini Jr. Sprite and add it to your Fortnite collection.
Where to Find the Vini Jr. Sprite in Fortnite
![]()
In Fortnite, Vini Jr. Sprite can be found in Sprite Chests and Rare Chests (sometimes called Relic Chests). Regular gold chests technically have it in their loot table, but the drop rate there is so microscopic you might as well ignore them. You need to target areas on the Chapter 7 Season 3 map with a high concentration of these special containers like major named POIs, vaults, and boss locations.
The smartest way to do this is to map out a run where you can encounter three or four Sprite Chest spawns in a single match. Stacking your attempts per game is what cuts down the grind. To increase the odds, play during the Sprite Power Hour events on weekends. The pool of active players and the drop boosts make rare companions hunt way more forgiving.
Don’t forget to keep your eyes on other players. If you spot a random guy running around with Vini trailing behind him, eliminate him and loot his Sprite, or you can trade with another player if you have something valuable they want in return.
These are all the known ways you can get the Vini Jr. Sprite:
- Sprite Chests (Best odds and the main farming method)
- Rare Chests / Relic Chests (Lower chances than Sprite Chests, but still worth opening)
- Standard Chests (Possible, but a very low-probability drop)
- Cluster Found quests (Can provide another chance during relevant quest activity)
- Sprite Locator (New Gizmo to narrow down Sprite loot opportunities)
- Eliminating a player carrying Vini Jr. Sprite (As a drop item to loot)
- Trading with another player (If possible)
Collecting the Vini Jr. Sprite is only half the job. If another player kills you before you extract it, you’ll lose the Sprite and will be back to square one. To keep it permanently, you need to extract it safely in one piece.
Carry the Sprite to an Extraction Site and complete the extraction, or use a Portable Extractor immediately in case you have one in inventory. Once the extraction is complete, Vini Jr. Sprite will be unlocked in your collection, and you can equip it before future matches.
Note: If you do happen to extract Vini Jr. Sprite once and somehow lose it later, you can summon it back for 7,500 Sprite Dust. But you have to secure the extraction first.
What Does the Vini Jr. Sprite Do in Fortnite?
The Vini Jr. Sprite is built for highly aggressive, close quarters players. After you sprint a short distance, your next slide becomes a powerful slidekick that can break through structures and deal damage to enemies. Without the Sprite equipped, sliding into another player only knocks them back a little. With it, that same move turns into an attack that can open a fight before you even fire your weapon.
Even better, slidekick gives you an immediate, temporary buff to your weapon’s fire rate and reload speed.
The scaling on this card is wild as you level it up:
| Sprite Level | Slide Damage | Fire Rate & Reload Boost |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | 40 | 10% |
| Level 2 | 45 | 20% |
| Level 3 | 60 | 30% |
| Level 4 | 66 | 40% |
| Level 5 | 80 | 60% |
At Level 5, an 80-damage slidekick followed by a 60% fire-rate boost is nasty in short range fights. An SMG, fast AR, or another rapid-fire weapon gets the most out of it because you can immediately capitalize on the speed boost.
How to Level Up the Vini Jr. Sprite
![]()
After you have received Vini Jr. Sprite, you’ll want to upgrade it to Level 5 as fast as possible to unlock the 80-damage threshold. The Sprite levels up through the normal Chapter 7 Season 3 Sprite progression system.
Just feed it your earned XP and resources through the main menu dashboard. Unlike some of the other high-tier companions, there are no specialty variants of Vini, as it’s only a standalone Mythic. That means you only need to find it once, and then you can focus entirely on dumping your progression resources into maximizing Sprite’s levels.
