Hullcracker is an explosive pump-action launcher built to delete ARC armor and open fights with authority in ARC Raiders. Unlike many weapons that drop out in the wild, the Hullcracker blueprint is earned by completing The Major’s Footlocker quest, which rewards you with the weapon blueprint and its ammo recipe. Here’s how to complete The Major’s Footlocker quest for the Hullcracker blueprint and craft the launcher once it’s unlocked.
Tian Wen’s Quest Chain & Prerequisites
To unlock The Major’s Footlocker, you must first progress through a string of quests, and the quickest way is to progress Tian Wen’s story. Complete her contracts in this order:
- Straight Record
- Keeping the Memory
- Echoes of Valley Ridge
- Unexpected Initiative
- A Symbol of Unification
- The Major’s Footlocker
After A Symbol of Unification is complete, speak with Tian Wen in the Speranza Gun Shop to accept the quest we’re here for.
ARC Raiders The Major’s Footlocker Walkthrough
The Major’s Footlocker sends you to the Ruby Residence apartments in the northwest of the Dam Battlegrounds. You’ve two objectives to complete: find Major Aiva’s Mementos in a specific residential building and safely extract with the box to bring it back to Tian Wen.
Tip: Slot an augment that lets you put an item in a Safe Pocket. Major Aiva’s Mementos take up physical pack space, after all. Placing the item into a secure slot will guarantee you finish the job, even if an ambush takes out your squad before you can extract.
With that said, visit the Ruby Residence northwest of the Hydroponic Dome Complex and just northeast of Pale Apartments at the location shown in the image above. Look for the cluster of three reddish apartment buildings labeled Ruby Residence.
Enter the leftmost (southwest) apartment block, slightly offset from the twin buildings next to it. Get through the ground floor opening and check corners for lurking Grubs or early-raid scrap hunters. Go upstairs two flights to the third floor (the top residential level), directly below the rooftop. Through the doorway just past the stair landing into the open flat, go past the stripped kitchen counters into the rear corner room on the left.
By the open window frame, you’ll find the wooden footlocker on a desk. Press the interact prompt to Search for Memorabilia, and Major Aiva’s Mementos will spawn there. Take the item, then open your pack and slide the mementos straight into your Safe Pocket.
With the objective cleared, pick your exit route:
- Ben Welder’s Sunroof (Fastest): Located south down the hillside from Ruby Residence, though it requires a Raider Hatch Key to access.
- North Complex Elevator (Safe Route): Head east toward the industrial valley. It usually experiences less player traffic than southern exits.
- Central Swamp Lift (High Risk): Directly south, but the place frequently has a crowd with skirmishes here and there, and roaming patrols make this exit contested.
Return to Speranza, talk to Tian Wen at the Gun Shop, and turn in the mementos. She will award you both the Hullcracker Blueprint and the Launcher Ammo Blueprint.
How to Craft the Hullcracker in ARC Raiders
Unlocking the schematic is only half the battle. To assemble the base launcher, your workshop must have Gunsmith Level 3, so you’ll need your workbench fully leveled before you can craft the base version.
Base Weapon Recipe
- 1x Magnetic Accelerator
- 3x Heavy Gun Parts (scrapped from high-end weapon salvage)
- 1x Exodus Module
Launcher Ammo Recipe (Workbench I)
- 5× Metal Parts
- 1× Crude Explosives
The Exodus Module is mostly the limiting factor for early-game players; Heavy Gun Parts are salvaged easily from unwanted weapons. Once crafted, the Hullcracker weapon can be upgraded through four tiers, which improve its fire rate and durability with more Heavy Gun Parts and Advanced Mechanical Components, turning what starts as a slow single-shot opener into an aggressive midrange machine breaker.

The Hullcracker fires heavy 40mm anti-ARC payloads engineered with an impact detonation trigger that only activates on ARC hulls. Projectiles do not detonate against bare dirt, walls, or players, and every shot must connect with machine armor to trigger the blast. Keep in mind that its Stealth Rating is 1. A single shell will alert every machine and angry raider in a wide radius, so use it as an ambush breaker on tough targets or to quickly clear an extraction site before you’re about to lock the doors.
