Getting into the Command Wing in Outpost’s Pinwheel Base is a big priority to secure top-tier loot and clear specific contracts in Marathon. The zone starts on total lockdown, and to open the door, you have to find hidden door panels in the other wings of the base. In the run, you must dodge or face UESC patrols and sweaty runners who want to jack your gear. Here’s how to breach the facility and flip the correct switches to enter Command Wing in Marathon.
How to Unlock the Command Wing in Marathon
The main door to the Command Wing requires two access panels to be flipped before the local locks will respond. These are found in different wings, so you’ll need to move fast to avoid getting pinched in the halls.
To get into the Command Wing, you first need to enter the Pinwheel Base. To come from the Destroyed Wind end, move up to the rooftop of Orientation and follow the path down toward the Pinwheel Base. Soon, you’ll encounter the red force field blocking the doors, and the only way to unlock the Wing’s entrance is to shoot four white boxes with red light around the area. The box locations aren’t always in the same spot as they rotate between runs, but these are the usual places to check:
- Right near the locked door at the main entrance.
- Just below the broken bridge.
- To the left of the broken bridge.
- To the right side of the broken bridge area.
- Underneath the bridge (tricky to find).
Shoot all four red light boxes to drop the barrier and enter the bottom floor of the Destroyed Wing.
First Access Panel Location: Destroyed Wing
Given that you’ve entered through the Destroyed Wing, the first panel is right there. Go to the lower room on the east side with white walls and blue perimeter lighting. Find a desk against the pillar wall where you’ll see the panel mounted there. Approach the switch, interact with it to log the first override, and then go across the base for the next one.
Second Access Panel Location: Drone Wing
Next, sprint over to the Drone Wing. Hit the button to open the heavy entrance door and walk all the way to the very back of the section. Move along the left wall as you advance until you reach a room with a distinct black wall extension near the upper floor area. Squeeze between a black storage container and a set of shelves to find the hidden switch. Interact with it to activate the second panel.
Open the Command Wing Door
With both panels active, return to the Command Wing entrance at the center of Pinwheel Base. The two terminals flanking the blue door will now be lit up. Interact with them to crack open the door. Right inside, four UESC units will spawn, so kill them before you move through.
As you explore the wing, check every side room to loot weapon lockers and containers along the way. You’ll face off against some tough UESC groups at the very end of the Command Wing. Take your time, deal with them methodically, and then sweep the room for loot. After you’ve cleared everything, exfil to secure the rewards.
