“Use Happy Pet Snacks” five times is the new task in World of Warcraft during the Trading Post objectives this month. On paper, it sounds easy. And it is—once you know where to find them but that’s the tricky part for many players. If you have returned after a long break, are new to the Trading Post system, or never interacted much with pet vendors before, here’s everything you need to know about how to get Happy Pet Snacks and how to use them.
Happy Pet Snacks are consumable items for your battle pets. The snacks don’t level up their power or affect combat, but they trigger a cute heart animation over your summoned pet. They’re simply a feel-good, flavor item. But during Trading Post months, they receive more value by helping you rack up Traveler’s Log progress and earn Trader’s Tender, the currency which unlocks exclusive cosmetic rewards like mounts, transmogs, and toys.
How to Get Happy Pet Snacks in World of Warcraft
You can get your hands on Happy Pet Snacks from an NPC vendor, Breanni. She’s a gnome who runs the Magical Menagerie, a pet shop located in Dalaran. There are two versions of Dalaran in the game.
- Wrath of the Lich King Dalaran (Northrend version)
- Legion Dalaran (Broken Isles version)
Thankfully, Breanni is in both, so no matter if you portal in from Orgrimmar, Stormwind, or use Legion Dalaran hearthstone, you’ll find her in the same shop to the right of Krasus’ Landing exit. Breanni sells bundles of five Happy Pet Snacks for about 50 silver.
Although buying from Breanni is the best source, a few players have speculated or remembered previous events such as Darkmoon Faire or rare vendors selling pet snacks. In practice though, these aren’t guaranteed or consistent, and you’re unlikely to find Happy Pet Snacks outside Dalaran’s vendor in the current game’s version. You won’t find them on the Auction House, either—at least not reliably. Further, Happy Pet Snacks are not craftable and are also not available through the premium store.
How to Use Happy Pet Snacks
Once you’ve bought the snacks, open your battle pet collection, summon any of your companions (it doesn’t matter which one), and then locate the snacks in your bags. Right-click on the item and then click your pet to “feed” it. You’ll know it worked when a little heart floats over the pet, which is both adorable and confirmation that the item triggered properly. Do this five times to see the Traveler’s Log notification for the objective completion, and get the Trader’s Tender.
