Spider Strings is an important Yellow Support Tool in Hollow Knight: Silksong that changes the way you approach combat and utility in the game. It’s not flashy like a new Needle art or a big damage upgrade, but it has great value at its end. Spider Strings is a small Weaver device that enhances the Needolin, giving it extra bite and versatility. It’s a must-have for players who enjoy layer buffs and squeeze more value out of their toolkit. Here’s how to find and get Silksong’s Spider Springs, what it does, and why it’s worth considering.
How to Get Spider Strings in Silksong
To get Spider Strings, finish The Wandering Merchant Wish (or The Lost Merchant Wish). In this side quest, you need to help a roving trader, and completing it opens up new stock in some shops. After that, head to the Choral Chambers in Songclave, a hub area of music and performance. You can purchase Spider Strings from Jubilana Merchant for 320 Rosaries. Once the Wish is cleared, Jubilana adds Strings to her stock. Without finishing the above required quest, it won’t appear on her shelves.
How Spider Strings Work in Silksong
Spider Strings doesn’t deal damage or give you any good move, but it supercharges the Needolin. That means:
- Your Needle performances receive powerful effects.
- Buffs that usually seem short or limited get extended, turning them into long-lasting advantages.
- It works best when paired with a build focused on Needle-heavy play.
Players who rely on brute force Needle swings may overlook Spider Strings at first, but in high-stakes fights, mainly against hard boss encounters like Sister Splinter, it’s invaluable. It turns your kit into a more flexible and resilient one to let you maintain pressure or survive longer without running dry.
Since it upgrades Needle abilities, make sure you’ve unlocked or frequently use Needolin-based Silk skills. The more you lean into it, the more value you’ll get out of it. Although Spider Strings doesn’t unlock new areas or secret fights directly, equipping it in the final act can change the course of some late-game encounters. It’s not mandatory, but if you’ve finished the Wish tied to it, Spider Strings is one of the Tools you’ll be glad you picked up before getting into the hardest Silksong content.
