Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be officially revealed to the world on Tuesday, August 19, during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, and it will be one of the year’s biggest moments for the franchise. With Treyarch returning at the helm and fan anticipation peaking at the top, the BO7 reveal is expected to showcase a new era of war, storytelling, and innovation in front of global fans.
While Activision is quiet before the event with no official details, organizer Geoff Keighley from Gamescom ONL has broken the silence. In his tweet on X (formerly Twitter), Keighley confirmed Black Ops 7 will open the Gamescom festivities with a “massive” reveal during the live broadcast.

The Gamescom Opening Night Live stream begins on August 19 at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 7 PM BST, and although there’s no exact timestamp for Black Ops 7 within the show, it’s expected to be in the first, if not the first, major segments to go live.
Opening Night Live has never used a timed segment format, so you’ll have to tune in early to catch the action as it happens. The presentation typically runs for about two hours including world premieres, gameplay reveals, and developer insights.
Where to Watch the Black Ops 7 Reveal Event?
The full stream including the Call of Duty showcase will be broadcast on following multiple platforms:
- Gamescom YouTube Channel
- The Game Awards YouTube Channel
- Gamescom Twitch Channel
- X (formerly Twitter) via @gamescom and @thegameawards
And shortly after, clips and the full trailer will also be posted on Call of Duty’s official channels. If you miss the live stream, the reveal trailer and segments will be available for replay across all platforms, with recaps and breakdowns following shortly after.
What to Expect from the Reveal?
Black Ops 7 is already being described as one of the most ambitious entries in the franchise’s history. Set in 2035, the game is a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, bringing back key characters along with new faces to the battlefield. Milo Ventimiglia stars as David Mason, joined by Kiernan Shipka as Emma Kagan, and Michael Rooker reprises his role as the gruff Mike Harper.
While the full reveal contents remain under wraps, this is what is expected from Black Ops 7:
- An in-depth look at the campaign’s setting and storyline
- First glimpses at multiplayer mechanics, likely to tease advanced movement or new tech
- A sneak peek at Zombies mode, which has become a core part of every Treyarch title
- And if past reveals are anything to go by, there may even be a surprise Call of Duty: Warzone crossover tease
Earlier trailers have already hinted at a return to amazing themes and chaotic global warfare, and this event is expected to further reveal about what BO7 is bringing to the table.
Activision is expected to host its annual Call of Duty Next event in late September, where creators and influencers will go hands-on with Multiplayer and Zombies modes in a full gameplay show. Shortly after that will be the Black Ops 7 beta release with early access for pre-orders and Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
If Call of Duty history repeats the events, expect a steady stream of developer blogs, gameplay trailers, and lore drops leading all the way to the game’s expected October/November official CoD: Black Ops 7 release.
