The hype machine for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is already spinning into gear, and if you’re one of the most excited CoD fans, you might be wondering: When does the Black Ops 7 beta start? While Activision hasn’t dropped official dates yet, multiple trusted leaks are painting a clear picture, and thanks to these speculations, we’ve got details about the next Call of Duty title you need to know right here.
Black Ops 7 Beta Start Date (Leaked)
According to highly reputable leaker TheGhostOfHope, the Black Ops 7 beta is expected to kick off shortly after the Call of Duty Next event, which reportedly will take place in late September 2025 in Las Vegas.

If the usual pattern holds, the Early Access beta would begin that same week likely around Friday, September 26, with the Open Beta following the weekend after. That would line up with previous years, where we saw the same two-weekend rollout format. But still, we can’t completely trust these rumors until the official announcement comes from Activision.
How to Get Access to BO7 Beta

There are usually two phases expected for CoD betas: Early Access Beta which will be available only to players who preorder the game or subscribe to Xbox Game Pass (if that’s confirmed again), and Open Beta, a few days later free for everyone on all platforms. There is no platform exclusivity this year so for all gaming systems including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, there will be no waiting behind a platform wall.
What Will Be Included in the Black Ops 7 Beta?
If leaks are accurate, the BO7 beta will arrive with a strong mix of classic nostalgia and new-gen flavor:
- Remastered Black Ops 2 maps like Raid, Hijacked, Plaza, and Standoff
- Fan-favorite multiplayer modes including Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, and possibly new mechanics
- A selection of weapons, perks, scorestreaks, and Operators to test out, including returning Black Ops 4-era weapons
- A likely around 30 level cap
There will be beta-exclusive rewards such as Calling Cards, Operator skins, and weapon blueprints. Regarding the beta length, expect around 4 to 6 days of total playtime split between the closed (Early Access) and open weekends. If you play in both phases, you could enjoy nearly a full week of early BO7 action.
COD Next 2025 Reveal
The full Black Ops 7 reveal will be at Gamescom Opening Night Live in August, but COD Next 2025 is expected in late September, and it will be the actual gameplay showcase. Expect live matches from top streamers, deep dives into Zombies and multiplayer, and a final look before beta kicks off.
