Black Ops 6 Brings Back Beloved Party Mode But Fans Are Fuming Over Missing Weapon

One in the Chamber is back in BO6 Season 4 but where’s the revolver, and what happened to wager matches?

The fan-favorite and one of the most iconic party modes in Call of Duty history “One in the Chamber” is returning back in Black Ops 6 Season 4, and it’s bringing with it that adrenaline-fueled, one-shot-one-kill tension we all remember. Even though excitement is high, the return isn’t without its caveats most notably, players are left scratching their heads over a glaring absence: the revolver.

For new players to the CoD series or those who missed the golden age of Black Ops 1, One in the Chamber is a high-stakes game mode where each player spawns with a single bullet and must earn more by landing kills. It’s fast, frantic, and has been a fan-requested feature for years.

Treyarch finally confirmed the mode’s return as part of an in-season update for Black Ops 6 Season 4, showcasing the announcement with a new logo featuring dual revolvers. The image sets perfectly in the place for a mode defined by precision and pressure, but that’s where the confusion (and disappointment) starts to creep in.

Despite the visual tease, there’s currently no sign of an actual revolver in the mode or the game’s weapon pool, for that matter and fans are noticing. The devs are introducing back a mode defined by revolvers without actually having revolvers in the game like serving pizza without cheese, or promising a zombie apocalypse but forgetting the zombies. The audacity is honestly impressive.

“Bruh I swear if we get this icon but not an actual revolver,” one player commented. Another chimed in with the equally valid complaint: “I just want a 1911 bro.” So, there have been even requests for classic pistols like the 1911, which has been a standard in COD loadouts for years but is mysteriously missing from the current arsenal. There have been rumors and even some leaks hinting the revolver is in development but right now, it still hasn’t surfaced in-game.

The matter is not only about the guns, some longtime fans further lament the lack of wager matches — a feature that made One in the Chamber in Black Ops 1 such a memorable thrill. Wagering your in-game currency and risking it all for a win brings intensity that’s currently missing in the updated version.

But even with these gripes, the return of this beloved CoD mode is a win for all fans. It proves Treyarch cares and listens to community feedback and delivers on long-standing requests. It’s a trend we’ve seen with the return of other classic modes like Prop Hunt, Demolition, and Cyber Attack when the fans requested from developers.
