Where to Find the Dead Space Peng Treasure Statue

Let's find out the Peng in Dead Space Remake to complete achievement and grab some rewards.

As you walk through the blood-slicked halls of the USG Ishimura in the Dead Space Remake, you will likely come across a few upbeat posters or graffiti blaring out one name: Peng. From advertisements to locker tags, it’s everywhere, and if you’re like me, you’ve probably muttered “Okay, but what is Peng?” a dozen times before giving up and heading back to stomping Necromorphs. Peng is connected to a hidden collectible item: the Peng Treasure, and finding it not only rewards you with the “There’s Always Peng!” achievement or trophy, but also nets you 30,000 Credits.

The game never explains what Peng is. The item you find is a sleek statue of a woman labeled only as an “artifact from the past.” You won’t get details, backstory, or a mission update, but just a mystery that’s been around since the original Dead Space. Let’s say it the franchise’s version of a hidden Easter egg, except this one comes with a monetary bonus and it appears once per game. If you don’t know where to find it, this guide tells about Peng’s location in Dead Space Remake.

How to Find Peng in Dead Space Remake

Cargo Bay of the Hangar Tram Control in Dead Space
Hangar Tram Control area in Dead Space Remake.

You can only find the Peng Treasure until Chapter 11, Alternate Solutions. By this point in the game, Isaac will be tasked with moving the Marker using the cargo crane. Once you reach the Hangar-Cargo-Tram Control area and enter the Cargo Bay, you’ll notice the scale of the room—it’s massive, layered, and full of obstructions.

Take the cargo lift down to the lower floor, and turn to the immediate left at the lift’s base. You’ll see a small bank of lockers partially blocked by a pile of crates. Most of these crates are tagged with the familiar Kinesis icon, which is the cue to move stuff around. As you shift the crates out of the way, one locker will be plastered with Peng stickers like someone was overly proud of their locker decoration skills. Open it up to claim the Peng Treasure.

You’ll pass through this room earlier in the game, but without the Kinesis Module or the story prompt to engage the cargo systems, you wouldn’t have a reason to poke around. It’s only during this late chapter, with everything coming to a head, that the statue becomes accessible.

Peng Treasure doesn’t do anything special beyond unlocking the “There’s Always Peng!” achievement and being worth a truckload of credits. Once you’ve picked it up, head to the nearest store kiosk and sell it for 30,000 credits. That’s enough to buy multiple Power Nodes or stock up on ammo, health packs, or even those pricey suit upgrades you’ve been eyeing. It’s arguably the most valuable non-story item in the entire game in terms of raw credits.
