When Tian Wen hands you the “What We Left Behind” quest in ARC Raiders, it’s time to dig up the past. This mission sends you across three different maps to find forgotten Raider caches, data, and loot left scattered in the chaos after the storm. It’s not particularly difficult once you know where to go, but different areas have different ways to get to the exact spot, and be ready for a fight if luck’s not on your side.
You’ll need to visit these three map locations across the game’s world:
- Raider Camp beneath the Parking Garage in Buried City
- South Swamp Outpost on Dam Battlegrounds
- Bilguun’s Hideout in the Spaceport region
How to Complete What We Left Behind in ARC Raiders
Below, we’ll explain how to get each part done without wasting time wandering in circles or getting ambushed in a swamp.
Buried City – Search the Raider Camp Beneath the Parking Garage

Your target in Buried City is buried beneath the Parking Garage just northeast of Marano Park, roughly in the central zone of this chaotic map. It’s easy to spot from afar just look for the massive half-collapsed concrete structure that looks like been chewed up by the sandstorm.

Once on the ground floor, make your way to the southeast of the garage to come across a breachable elevator door, and press the key to breach it open to find a zipline leading down to the lower level. Ride it down to the underground area that’s almost entirely buried in sand.

Down here, you’ll find what used to be a Raider hangout, complete with makeshift bedding, lights, and two searchable containers. One is a long rectangular case, and the other is a soft bag tucked behind some corrugated metal sheets. Interact with both of them to grab the salvage Tian Wen needs. It’s worth taking your time to check this place for extra loot before leaving. Hidden stashes in this area can include solid weapon mods or crafting materials.
Dam Battlegrounds – Find the South Swamp Outpost

Go to South Swamp Outpost, which is the forested swamp area to the west of the Dam Battlegrounds, south of the main swamp marker on your map. It’s not heavily fortified, but you’ll find some ARC units patrolling the area, so it’s smart to clear them out before poking around. Once you reach the outpost, look for a large, round metal building—kind of like a rusted silo with scaffolding and panels sticking out.

Head inside, and on the small table by the wall, you’ll find a pile of documents. Interact with the papers to log Tian Wen’s intel and complete this objective. You don’t need to extract afterward; the progress saves instantly, even if you get killed right after.
Spaceport – Bilguun’s Hideout

The last part of the quest takes you to Spaceport to an area called Container Storage near the map’s middle. This one can trip you up because Bilguun’s Hideout isn’t on ground level but perched on top of the large wall just east of Container Storage.
When you arrive, find the wall running along the eastern edge. It’s broken in a few spots, and those collapsed sections are your way up. Climb up the debris or scaffolding from either the north or south end until you reach the top.
Once up there, you’ll spot a metal shack bolted onto the side of the wall—that’s Bilguun’s Hideout. Inside, you’ll find scattered notes and personal items left behind. Approach the papers with a yellow ‘Collect Notes‘ mark and interact with them to log the data.

There is also another way to get to this hideout by climbing the ladders, which you can find if you reach this hut by moving along the wall from outside, as we marked in the above image.
If your objective doesn’t register right away, this area occasionally bugs out. The simple fix is to extract and re-enter the region, then interact with the notes again; it’ll count the second time.
What We Left Behind Quest Rewards
Once you’ve searched and collected anything significant in all three locations—South Swamp Outpost, the Buried City Raider Camp, and Bilguun’s Hideout—the We Left Behind quest completes automatically. Tian Wen will confirm the recovery, and you’ll earn weapon mod upgrades for your effort:
- Angled Grip II
- Muzzle Brake II
- Stable Stock II
Not only are these mods solid upgrades for your early-to-mid game arsenal, but the mission also helps you familiarize yourself with important areas on these maps.
