Will Ghost of Yotei Come to PC? Release Date Speculation

Sucker Punch’s samurai sequel is a PS5 exclusive for now, but Sony’s PC trend suggests a Steam release might not be far off.

Sucker Punch has gone back to Japan in the new Ghost of Yotei release, but will it ever make the jump off PlayStation and come to PC? Right now, the answer is no, but it’s probably just a matter of time.

No Ghost of Yotei PC Version Yet, and No Surprise Drops Either

Ghost of Yotei is a PlayStation 5 exclusive released on October 2, 2025. Sucker Punch and Sony haven’t said a word about a PC port, and there’s been no clue either from interviews, leaks, or the usual data-mining corners of the internet. You won’t find it on Steam, Epic, or any surprise listing.

If you don’t want to wait, you’ll need to buy a PlayStation 5 console. But if you’re patient (and judging by Sony’s history, you might need to be), there’s a good chance Yotei will make its way to PC in the future.

Sony, on one side, talks about console exclusivity, but lately, its definition of “exclusive” comes with a timer. Over the past few years, God of War, Horizon, Spider-Man, and Ghost of Tsushima have all made their way to PC with strong sales to show for it.

Ghost of Tsushima is the spiritual predecessor to Yotei, set 300 years ago of Yotei’s events, and its Director’s Cut was released on the PC in May 2024, almost four years after its original PS4 launch. The move paid off, giving Sony a second life for a beloved title. It’d be surprising if Ghost of Yotei didn’t follow that same playbook.

Put bluntly: Sony likes money, and there’s plenty of it waiting on Steam.

There’s no official timeline for Sony’s PC ports, but recent releases give us a pattern. Old exclusives like Tsushima took almost four years, while more recent hits God of War Ragnarök, Spider-Man 2, and Stellar Blade made their arrival in around 14 to 24 months.

If Sony keeps that pace, Yotei could come on PC sometime in late 2026 or early 2027. That seems to be the sweet spot for their new strategy: enough time to let PlayStation have its best time in the world, and also keep PC players from losing interest.

Of course, this all depends on Sucker Punch’s post-launch plans. If the gets the usual story expansions or multiplayer updates, that timeline might also stretch further. But anything past 2028 would be out of step with the company’s current approach.

Sony’s staggered release plan is a strategic business. PS5 launch first helps the company push hardware sales and PlayStation Plus subscriptions. Once the wave crests, the PC version gets a release to get a fresh audience. It’s worked across the board, from Horizon Zero Dawn to The Last of Us Part I.

So, it’s almost a given that Ghost of Yotei will arrive on PC. The only mystery is when. Sony’s shift toward cross-platform releases makes it inevitable, but patience will be required, likely a year and a half, maybe two.
