Mushrooms are one of the deceptively simple items in ARC Raiders that somehow turn into an hour-long scavenger hunt. You’ve already fetched lemons, apricots, and even a cat bed for Scrappy, yet the most ordinary-looking fungus ends up being the hardest thing to find. But once you know the right mushroom locations, farming these Scrappy upgrade materials becomes easy, even if you have to dodge a few Fireballs and trek through swampy ruins along the way. This guide tells where to find mushrooms in ARC Raiders and where to use them.
ARC Raiders Mushrooms Locations
Mushrooms are Nature-type resources, and they usually spawn in damp, overgrown, or shaded areas. That means you’ll mainly be hunting them on tree trunks, in muddy pools, or around the vegetation-heavy parts of the Dam Battlegrounds and Spaceport maps. They’re most useful for Scrappy’s final upgrade, so you’ll need at least 12 mushrooms to max him out.
Below are all the places where you can head to collect the mushrooms with some guaranteed and other rare spawns (pray to RNG gods):
Hydroponic Dome Complex – Dam Battlegrounds
If you only check one place, make it the Hydroponic Dome Complex northeast of the Water Treatment Control in the Dam Battlegrounds. This area is practically a mushroom farm by ARC Raiders’ standards. Head toward the southwest section of the complex, where you’ll find pools of murky water and a lot of greenery. Mushrooms often grow around these rivers on trees or along the walls inside the dome.
The spawn shares its slot with Great Mullein plants, so you won’t always find mushrooms on every run, but the odds are good enough to make this your priority stop. When they do appear, they’re usually clustered near the corners or planters.
Central Swamp Lift – Dam Battlegrounds
If the Dome doesn’t yield enough mushrooms, take a short walk along the riverbanks surrounding the Dam. The nearby wooded areas are another natural spawn point. Look for tree clusters between the Central Swamp Lift and the Water Treatment Control, especially during the Lush Blooms world modifier (more on that below). Make sure to scan up and down as you explore; it’s easy to miss the small caps blending into the bark.
Water Treatment Control – Dam Battlegrounds
Water Treatment Control is a small, contained area worth checking a few spots, mainly in the large corridor around the big blue pipes on the upper floor. Mushrooms can grow out of the metal or appear on the ground beside the wall. Further, they can be found in small, tighter areas around the rusty pipes. They are a random spawn, but mostly you’ll find them there. So it’s better to check, and the area needs less walking than the Dome. For repeated mushrooms farming, make this your other stop besides the Hydroponic Dome Complex.
Wreckage and South Swamp Outpost – Dam Battlegrounds
For a few extra chances per run, explore the Wreckage area southwest of the Testing Annex, where you can find a mushroom or a couple next to the fallen tree trunks if luck favors. Similarly, you can swing by the South Swamp Outpost or the Old Battleground region and in between them, where trees and fallen logs occasionally spawn a few more fungi. These aren’t high-yield areas, but when passing through, you should pay a visit and check around to top off your count.
Near Little Hangar – Spaceport
Mushrooms also have guaranteed spawn on the Spaceport map. Head to just south of Little Hangar, northwest of Tree Hatch East, near the East Container Yard at the above marked waypoint. The area has murky water and greenery where the mushrooms spawn around the trees.
One branchless tree with no leaves in the down tunnels area has guaranteed 3x or 4x mushrooms on every run. Spaceport is less hostile than the Dam Battlegrounds, so this can be a safe farming location for new players, solo runs, or anyone who doesn’t want casualties during the hunt.
Lush Blooms
Once the Lush Blooms modifier is active, the Dam Battlegrounds map teems with a lot of fruits and fungi. You’ll even see small baskets of food here and there, indicating boosted Nature spawns. So when you struggle to locate mushrooms in a dry rotation, wait until the map gets the Lush Blooms condition that can easily triple your haul in a single run.
What are the Uses of Mushrooms in ARC Raiders
Once you’ve collected mushrooms, return to base and use them for Scrappy the Rooster’s final upgrade. To push him to level 5, you’ll need 12 Mushrooms, 12 Apricots, and 3 Very Comfortable Pillows. Together, these complete his last upgrade, which rounds off his progression.
Pillows can be found in different locations, but mushrooms are the real time sink, so getting them early makes the upgrade grind easy.
