Pokémon Go Max Mondays Raid Schedule (August 2025)

Know about two Normal-type tanks, shiny odds, and Max Particle farm.

Pokémon Go Max Mondays are back this August, and Niantic is clearly using them to prep us for the Go Fest 2025 Max Finale. Instead of a throwaway filler event, these Monday raid blocks are the best chance to stockpile resources and farm rare Candy for Pokémon you’ll want to evolve in Pokémon Go.

Two encounters headline the end of August and carry us into September, including Dynamax Chansey on August 25 and Dynamax Snorlax on September 1. Both are tanky with long-term value, and both have boosted Max Particles that will feed directly into the Eternamax Eternatus showdown later in the season.

Pokémon Go Dynamax Raid Boss Info

Pokémon Typing Weaknesses Best Counters Notes
Chansey (Dynamax) Normal Fighting Machamp, Lucario, Conkeldurr, Terrakion Extremely bulky, but no offensive threat. Bring strong Fighting-types to cut through its HP quickly, good chance to farm XL candy.
Snorlax (Dynamax) Normal Fighting Terrakion, Shadow Machamp, Lucario, Mega Blaziken Another HP sponge, fighting-types dominate here, too. Snorlax gives damage more than Chansey, so shields and dodging help. Shiny chance makes this raid extra appealing.

August 25 – Dynamax Chansey

The August 25 raid features Dynamax Chansey, and it’s hard to overstate how important this one is:

  • Candy & XL Candy Grind – Chansey and Blissey are infamous for their Candy droughts. Raiding Dynamax Chansey with boosted rewards is one of the rare times you can stockpile enough XL Candy without months of walking as a buddy.
  • Gym Utility – A maxed-out Blissey is still one of the most oppressive gym defenders in the game. If you’re serious about holding gyms in busy areas, you’ll want a powered Blissey in your lineup.
  • Prep for Go Fest – Mondays also mean extra Max Particles, and farming them on Chansey raids gives you fuel for the big raids that close the month.

The bonus here is that Chansey is one of the Pokémon you may not raid often outside of events, so get the full advantage of its arrival.

September 1 – Dynamax Snorlax

The week after Chansey, Dynamax Snorlax will appear on September 1, and this one is just as good.

  • Meta Longevity – Snorlax has always been the most versatile pick in PvP and gym defense. With solid bulk, decent moves, and a shadow form that dominates in Master League, its relevance isn’t going away.
  • Shiny Chance – Snorlax’s shiny is still one of the most sought-after in the game. Dynamax raids give you more rolls at it, making Max Monday a shiny hunter’s dream.
  • Raid Resource Farming – Just like with Chansey, the actual hidden value is in the extra Max Particles. With Eternamax Eternatus as the centerpiece of Go Fest’s Max Finale, Snorlax raids are the easiest prep farms you’ll get.

Where Chansey is about long-term gym play, Snorlax leans more into PvP, so the two weeks complement each other in a nice way. It’s tempting to shrug off Max Mondays as “only two bulky Normal-types,” but that misses the point.

Tips to Make the Most of Max Mondays

  • Coordinate locally – Normal-types aren’t the hardest to raid, but you’ll want groups for efficiency and fast clears to maximize rewards.
  • Lucky Egg or Star Piece – With boosted rewards and Candy drops, you’ll squeeze even more out of your time.
  • Target what you need – Go heavy on Chansey if you’re missing a strong Blissey, or push Snorlax if PvP is your preference.

A well-built Blissey and Snorlax are Pokémon Go standards, and this schedule finally makes farming them easy. Add in the bonus Max Particles, and these Mondays are as much about being ready for the future as they are about filling today’s raid pass.
