ARC Raiders Line in the Sand Quest Guide

How to solve Celeste train mystery on Buried City without getting lost in the desert sand.

Celeste’s Line in the Sand quest in ARC Raiders sends you into Buried City to investigate a missing Stella Montis transport train carrying important Exodus hardware that never made it to Marano Station. None of the objectives require extracting specific items to complete the quest, so you can complete this quest with a free throwaway loadout or your standard kit without having to worry about losing quest progress if you get taken out by Raiders or ARCs. Here’s every location you need to visit to finish Line in the Sand in ARC Raiders.

Objective #1: Find Out Why the Train Never Reached Marano Station

For the first quest location to visit, you need to head to the far west side of the Buried City map. Follow the quest marker south toward the train tracks, away from the platform.

The derailed train is sunken in the sand dunes between the Warehouse, Maintenance Depot, and Grandioso Apartments. Walk into the brush or trees near the wrecked train boxes, and as soon as you reach the ruins, the objective completes and automatically updates your quest log to the second location.

Objective #2: Find Out Who Orchestrated the Robbery

From the train wreck, move east toward Piazza Roma. You are looking for a small square guard tower perched on the edge of the retaining wall.

Walk around the back and mantle through the open railing, and check the corner next to the potted foliage for a Search for Clues prompt. Interact with it to spawn the Marano Market Business Card. Grab the card and immediately shove it into your Safe Pocket so you don’t lose it if you run into another squad or rogue ARC machines.

Objective #3: Find Out Where the Thruster Valves Were Stashed

The business card points toward Marano Market, which isn’t labeled by the exact name on the map. You need to head all the way across to the eastern part of Buried City to the Market Ruins POI, located just northeast of the Hospital.

Sprint east through the center of the map. As soon as you reach the open perimeter outside the Market Ruins structure (near the Raider Hatch exfil), the quest objective will automatically complete and reveal the final objective.

Objective #4: Search the Basement of the Merchant’s Nearby Apartment

The merchant’s apartment is right next door. Travel slightly northeast from the Market Ruins toward the exterior apartment block right along the map boundary (a short distance north from Dune’s End).

Ride this zipline down to the apartment basement

Enter the building’s ground floor, go to the rear hallway to find an open elevator shaft, and ride the zipline cable down into the basement.

Turn right inside the underground room to find a stack of taped cardboard boxes. Walk up to the boxes and press the key to interact with the Take Photo prompt.

Once the photo is taken, the quest will complete. You can extract immediately or die trying—either way, Celeste will have your payout ready back at Speranza.
