Is The Outer Worlds 2 on Game Pass?

It's not the best choice, it's Spacer's Choice to play it for free.

If you’ve been waiting to enjoy Obsidian’s space-capitalist madhouse without paying full price, good news: yes, The Outer Worlds 2 is coming to Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft officially confirmed it’s a day-one launch title for both Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

The Outer Worlds 2 Game Pass Launch

Developed by Obsidian and a sequel to The Outer Worlds, the latest game joins the “Wave 2” of October Game Pass drops, with the list also includes PowerWash Simulator 2, Football Manager 26, and a few others. The game is available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Cloud gaming for Ultimate subscribers.

That means you can switch between your console, PC, or even stream it to your tablet if you’re desperate to negotiate with shady megacorps during your lunch break.

Obsidian has put a lot more effort into this release. The Outer Worlds 2 runs on Unreal Engine 5 and brings back that sharp-tongued humor, corporate dystopia, and flexible moral choices that made the first game great. According to the developers, companions now have more agency — they’ll call you out, argue your choices, and in some cases turn against you if you push their limits.

For Game Pass users, that’s an instant W. You get a top-tier RPG, day one, without dropping the full price tag. It’s also coming to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, not the lower-tier Game Pass Essential, so make sure your subscription is in the right bracket.

The Outer Worlds will release on October 29, 2025 on all major platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. If your SSD is already crying from Starfield and Avowed, now’s the time to clear some space.
