Elden Ring Nightreign Obtained Vessels Achievement Guide

Find out where to find vessels, what they do, and how to unlock vessels achievement in Nightreign.

“Obtained Vessels” is one of the most elusive yet simple achievements in Elden Ring: Nightreign. Seen this cryptic trophy, if you have wondered “what even is a vessel?” or perhaps why your achievement didn’t pop even though you’ve gathered a few, don’t worry. You’re not alone. This guide explains how to unlock the Elden Ring Nightreign Obtained Vessels achievement, where to find vessels, and how to make sure you meet all the hidden requirements.

What are Vessels?

Elden Ring Nightreign Vessel Overview

In Nightreign, vessels are the source of customizing how your characters interact with relics, kind of like the “frames” that hold your relic slots. Each vessel you obtain has its own layout and color coding and if you unlock many of them, it opens the way to further buildcrafting potential. It’s especially true in a game that’s built around roguelike improvisation.

At the start of your journey, you will likely be unaware that these vessels even exist beyond the default setup. But as you dig deeper into expeditions and begin coming back and forth to Roundtable Hold with currency to spend, that’s when the vessel mechanic starts to unfurl. There is even an achievement named “Obtained Vessels” linked to these vessels in the game, and to earn it, your goal is simple but tedious: collect every single vessel in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Where to Find the Vessels to Unlock the Obtained Vessels in Nightreign

Buying Vessels to Unlock the Obtained Vessels in Nightreign

To find the vessels, you need to visit the Small Jar Bazaar, a vendor in the Roundtable Hold hub area. This NPC isn’t shy about offering goods, but vessels aren’t handed over cheaply. You’ll need to purchase all 11 vessels available in the stock which include:

  • Standard goblets for each character
  • A set of three “grails”, which are larger vessels, each offers three relic slots of same color
  • Remembrance-related vessels unlocked through specific questlines

To afford all of this, you’ll need to farm and save 18,600 Murk, the game’s permanent currency. Murk is rewarded after each run and persists through character deaths, so you don’t lose it like regular Runes. However, collecting such a large sum of money requires many successful expeditions.

How to Unlock More Vessels

There’s one thing that trips up a lot of players: not all vessels are available right away. Early on, the Small Jar Bazaar only has a basic set. To unlock the complete vessel lineup including the high-tier grails and remembrance-specific vessels, you must finish all eight expeditions in Nightreign.

Expeditions are structured campaign missions that have you engage in Night Lord boss fights. Each time you beat one, the Roundtable Hold changes slightly, and new options, including vessel offerings appear. After clearing all eight objectives, check back with the Bazaar and you’ll find the final few vessels available to purchase. So, if you bought every vessel early on and still haven’t gotten the achievement, chances are, you’re missing the ones linked to later game progression.

Vessels and Relics Difference

This game doesn’t always make its terminology crystal clear, so let’s clear the confusion. Vessels and relics are not the same thing.

  • Relics are socketable modifiers that level up your build. They offer passive buffs, combat tweaks, and even many effects that greatly change your character’s role in a run.
  • Vessels, on the other hand, are the structural templates where you socket these relics, or in other words, are the places to put your relics.

To switch between vessels or install relics, you’ll need to visit the Relic Rites table at the Roundtable Hold. Swapping vessels is a good strategy here as it is helpful to fulfill the condition for the related “Vessel” achievement by unlocking a new vessel and performing a relic rite with it.

Remembrance Vessels

One of the last things you might be missing, especially if your achievement still hasn’t triggered, is completing the Remembrance quests.

Each playable character in Nightreign has a special quest tied to their identity and story. Finishing these quests often rewards you with their personal vessel, which can’t be sold in the Bazaar. Some of these campaigns demand to offer special items (like the Old Pocketwatch or Besmirched Frame) to NPCs which unlock extra vessels or characters altogether.

This part is usually ignored mainly if you completely set your sights on boss progression. But to check off the “Obtained Vessels” box, you’ll need both the purchasable vessels and any character-specific ones connected to Remembrances.

Achievement Not Unlocking? Here’s What Could Be Wrong

Even after you’ve spent your hard-earned Murk and think you’ve obtained everything, the trophy might not appear because of these few common hiccups:

  1. You didn’t finish all eight expeditions. The full set of vessels won’t unlock unless you’ve cleared the entire campaign.
  2. You missed a Remembrance quest. Some vessels are tucked behind the side objectives and if you’ve ignored them, the total count falls short.
  3. You didn’t visit the Relic Rites table. In a few cases, swapping to a new vessel and performing a relic rite seems to “trigger” the achievement if it’s stuck in limbo.
  4. A visual bug or UI lag. Occasionally, the game won’t reflect your full vessel count immediately. Rebooting or returning to the Bazaar can also update your status.

While not the most combat-intensive achievement in Nightreign, Obtained Vessels is a good reminder of the depth this roguelike twist on Elden Ring has brought. So, go ahead and make sure to enjoy everything you can and reveal as much hidden content as you can in one of the beloved Soulsborne titles.
