Lance never lets you rest easy in ARC Raiders. When he doesn’t ask for medical supplies or weird samples, he has got you out in the field again, and this time to chase a likely poisonous plant. During the “A New Type of Plant” quest, you need to find and pick a new plant that grows around Baron Husk in the Old Battleground area of Dam Battlegrounds. Once you grab it, you’ll have to extract safely with the plant in your inventory and hand it off to Lance back at Speranza. How to Start A New Type of Plant in ARC Raiders
Lance is the quest giver of A New Type of Plant, one of Speranza’s traders, and the NPC for all medical-related missions in the game. This time, he wants you to locate and bring back a specimen of a strange orange-flower plant that grows around the remains of an old ARC machine. But the location isn’t exactly deserted, and you’ll need to extract alive with the plant to complete the quest. Before heading out, equip a reliable weapon, bring enough ammo and medkits, and if possible, get a Safe Pocket augment.
Where to Find the Baron Husk in ARC Raiders
The plant you’re after grows near the Baron Husk, a massive fallen ARC in the Old Battleground on the western part of the map, north of the South Swamp Outpost. The Baron Husk is a big, half-buried metallic wreck jutting out of the ground and surrounded by overgrown terrain.
Once you’re close, be aware of any patrols or roaming ARC units. Old Battleground doesn’t give many ambush surprises, but you can encounter a stray raider or two farming the area.
Where to Find the New Toxic Plant in ARC Raiders
You can find multiple toxic plants around Baren Husk. The one you need to search for is a tall plant with orange or reddish blossoms, stand faintly against the dry ground; walk around the Baron Husk and you’ll find multiples. When you spot the plant, get close to it until the Gather prompt turns yellow and press E to interact with it to collect. Once you’ve picked the plant, move it into your Safe Pocket if you have to protect it from being lost if you die before extraction, which is always a risk when half the map tries to loot the same zone.
To extract safe and sound, the best route from Old Battleground is east toward the Central Swamp Lift, which is the nearest exit. This area, though, can be nasty. It’s a hotspot for ARC drones and human raiders camping the lift for easy kills. Take your time to move through the swampy terrain, and if you’re carrying the plant in regular inventory (not your Safe Pocket), avoid open paths where snipers or AI patrols can spot you.
Survive, and you’ll make it back to Speranza, where Lance will take the plant for research and reward you with a Vita Shot and an Antiseptic.
