A guide on every Hot Spring location in Ghost of Yotei, showing where to bath, reflect, and permanently increase Atsu’s health.

Hot Springs in Ghost of Yotei are the only way to increase your maximum health. Each spring you soak in will restore a visible amount to your HP bar, and after every bath, Atsu also takes a moment to reflect on her past and journey. Hot Springs are easy to recognize even from a distance: faint plumes of white steam, a small red tree, and the sound of bubbling water. Hot springs appear as wooden bucket-like icons on your map and when you approach one, you’ll see a bucket near the water’s edge. Interact with the bucket, Atsu then sits in the Hot Spring, and after a minute in the water, your health gets a permanent increase.

Tips to Hunt Down Hot Springs Effectively

Atsu in front of Hot Spring came to incease health in Ghost of Yotei

Use golden birds as a reliable indicator, and when you see one circling an area investigate immediately. Nothing is missable in Ghost of Yotei. You can continue to hunt hot springs after you’ve completed the main story in free roam, so don’t worry about finding them all in one go. That said, the permanent health increases make fights very manageable, so finding Hot Springs is the best way as you visit each region when completing main tales.

Red trees mark hot spring locations, they stand out against the surrounding foliage. When you see one of these trees, look for nearby climbing points or paths leading up. Most springs have elevated positions. Further, combined with Bamboo Strikes that increase your spirit energy, these activities will turn Atsu into a warrior that can handle the games toughest fights, especially to take her revenge against the Yotei Six.
