Add SourceRockstar Games has released its new monthly update for Red Dead Online. While it won’t quell the ongoing complaints about the mode’s limited support, it does include a limited-time reward players should claim before it’s gone.
We all know the score with Red Dead Online these days. After the brief glimmer of hope that was the Strange Tales of the West drop last year, we are almost back to the usual cadence of monthly event rotations. It’s not the major expansion or the mythical 60fps console update fans might have prayed for. However, if you are still riding the trails, you shouldn’t ignore this latest drop, specifically the time-limited Valentine’s Day bonus.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Players Have Limited Time to Claim This Free Reward

Rockstar has set a specific deadline for the login bonus this month. If you open Red Dead Online between now and February 16, you will receive the pink Cardozo Vest. The developers have called it an “appropriate garment for the celebration of St. Valentine,” which is a nice way of saying you’re going to look very pink while getting shot at in Saint Denis. It’s a small perk, but it’s free, and the window to get it is very short. As with most monthly bonuses, the reward only needs you to log into the game within the promotional duration.
The economy is very decent this month, particularly if you enjoy the Collector role. Madam Nazar currently pays out Double RDO$ and XP on all Collector Sets. So if you have stocked heirlooms and tarot cards in inventory, now is the time to unload them. Beyond the fashion statement, the update follows the established formula of rotating bonuses and multipliers. Here’s the breakdown of the schedule and rewards for the rest of February:
- Now to Feb 16: Login to claim the pink Cardozo Vest.
- Feb 17 to Feb 23: Win a match in the Featured Series to get a “Reward for the West Hill Haven Treasure Map”.
- Feb 24 to March 2: Find two collectibles to trigger a 40% off offer for an Established or Distinguished Collector Role item.
For the grinders, there is Triple XP on finding collectibles and Triple RDO$ and XP on the Condor Egg and participating in Salvage events through March 2. The Featured Series is also on trend with Triple RDO$ and XP. The series rotates weekly with triple rewards throughout, so if you don’t like the current mode, just wait a few days:
- Current: Race Series
- Post-Feb 16: Team Gun Rush Series
- Post-Feb 24: Elimination Series
Finally, don’t open your wallet for clothes for now if you don’t have to. The free community outfit, designed by user Thelastoftes, is available for $0 in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue. It’s a decent look that includes the Drifter Hat, Everyday Shirt (Male), Iniesta Shirtwaist (Female), Bandito Pants, Shotgun Coat, Opulent Vest, Neat String Tie, and Tasseled Coupar Boots. The Nosalida Outfit is also back, though you’ll need to check the patch notes for the specific mission requirements you must complete to unlock that one.
Rockstar keeps doing what it’s been doing with Red Dead Online. You get limited-time cosmetics, rotating bonuses, and incentives for specific roles. Don’t expect any massive content drops. Back in 2022, Rockstar confirmed it would shift development resources away from major updates for the mode. They’re now focused on maintenance and releasing minor patches here and there. Some players still hope for a current-gen upgrade of Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar hasn’t said anything official about it.
It’s not the Red Dead Redemption 3 announcement or the PS5/Series X patch we want, but frankly, I’ll take the triple payouts where I can get them. Get your vest before Sunday.
