A Foolproof Plan is a Wandering Tales side quest found in Heaven’s Pier in Where Winds Meet that involves finding Parting Tears in exchange for a promised treasure location. Our guide explains how to unlock the quest, complete its objectives, and claim the rewards.
How to Complete A Foolproof Plan in Where Winds Meet
Speak with the Wayfarer of Moonveil Mountain to unlock A Foolproof Plan Wandering Tale. Once the map is opened, open your journal and select the Wandering Tales under the Exploration tab to track the quest.
Talk to Shu Shu’er on the western side of Heaven’s Pier, slightly uphill from the docks. He will pitch you a deal. He claims to have a Killerblade’s treasure map he can give you, but it’s not free; he wants one Parting Tears wine jar in exchange. Accept the request to trigger the Wandering Tale.
Parting Tears wine flask can be found in multiple areas around Heaven’s Pier. You only need a single jar, and one of the fastest grabs is near the Lone Drinker’s bench. Look around it near the Bounty Board to find the small red jar beside Annals of Geography. Another jar is near the docks where the woman stands overlooking the river. Walk toward the wooden pier and check the wooden crates stacked nearby. One of them has a wine jar sitting right on top.
You can also get Parting Tears jars:
- In the Winery storage area.
- On a food stall table of Yuan Tiantian beside the waterwheel.
Once you have picked one, return to Shu Shu’er and hand over the wine. As expected, the deal doesn’t go the way he promised. Instead of a treasure map, he gives you a bounty notice for Killerblade, downs the Parting Tears, and instantly runs off. Sadly, you’ve been scammed.
After Shu Shu’er bolts, leave Heaven’s Pier from the road west out of the village towards Blissful Retreat. Stick to the main path, and not far along the road, near a small bridge and a sick goose spot, you’ll find Shu Shu’er being confronted and beaten by masked enforcers. Get to the group and interact with the prompt to trigger the conversation, which resolves the situation and completes the Wandering Tale.

Once the quest is finished, open your Journal, go to Wandering Tales, and find A Foolproof Plan to claim these rewards:
