How to Get Into Scriptorium in The Outer Worlds 2

Unlock the sealed wing of Alexandra Monastery.

Getting into the Scriptorium in The Outer Worlds 2 can be confusing the first time you explore Alexandra Monastery. You can’t enter the Scriptorium until you start Marisol’s companion quest, “Endpoint’s End.” Until that quest activates, the game seals the entire wing. You can still visit the lecture room, talk to scholars, and spot the vent, but you’ll hit an invisible stop halfway through. The two professors arguing behind the glass will refuse to budge, and the vent route won’t get you inside. Once Endpoint’s End begins, the Monastery makes changes behind the scenes, and the Scriptorium becomes accessible.

How to Reach Scriptorium in The Outer Worlds 2

Once Endpoint’s End starts, go into the lecture room from Alexandra Monastery’s main courtyard, which has the glass partition and the Anchoress Brun’s corpse lying beside the board wall. It’s the same room where you meet Anchoresses to complete their quest, Imprisoned by the Riddles of Reality.

Look to the left to see a narrow vent opening and crawl through it to get to the other end, where you find the Anchoress Chao’s body and his private journal on the table. You can now continue ahead to complete the companion quest.

During Imprisoned by the Riddles of Reality or On the Trail of the Traitor, you can reach the Scriptorium through the upper floors. From the hostage chamber—the one split between “Be a Hero” (right) and “Betray Your Values” (left)—enter from the left door and move upstairs, which takes you straight to the Scriptorium.

Inside the Scriptorium, the door beyond the central chamber leads outdoors toward the Observatory, which introduces the bell puzzle later. Climb the left-hand wooden plan with yellow cloth to reach the upper gallery, where you also find the Anchoress Brun’s “Conflict and Deescalation Theory: An Examination” book on the table.
