Shaman Crest is one of the strongest late-game Crests in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Unlike most Crests you can find in Acts 1 and 2, this one only becomes available in Act 3, after unlocking the Silk Soar ability. It’s designed for spell-focused playstyles, which lets Hornet massively increase her Silk Skills and equip three skills at once, making it arguably the best Silksong Crest in the late game.
Where to Find the Shaman Crest in Silksong

- Region: Ruined Chapel (Act 3)
- Required Ability: Silk Soar
To claim the Shaman Crest, you must first unlock Silk Soar, a key traversal upgrade you get in the Abyss. Once you have it, head toward Bone Bottom Bellway and look for the doorway to the Ruined Chapel on the left side of the entrance.
Inside, go to the far right where a lore marker stands. Use Silk Soar (Hold Jump + Harpoon button — S on PC, LT on Xbox, L2 on PlayStation, or L on Switch) to launch through the ceiling. Follow the upper path, breaking through the three breakable walls with your attacks. At the end of this route, you’ll drop into a chamber with a destroyed statue. Interact with it and hit the Bind key multiple times to collect the Shaman Crest.
Initial and Upgraded Slots
When you first acquire the Shaman Crest, it comes with:
- Initial Slots: 3 White
- Upgradeable Slots: +2 Blue (via Memory Lockets), +1 Yellow & +1 Blue (via Eva’s Vesticrests in Weavenest Atla)
This means the Crest can support multiple slots, giving it unmatched flexibility for Silk-heavy builds.
Shaman Crest Effects

Being the most effective item, equipping it completely changes Hornet’s combat abilities:
- Empowers Silk Skills with runes, largely increasing their abilities.
- Allows casting the blade forward, which sends damage shockwaves.
- Supports equipping up to three Silk Skills at once, ideal for boss fights and AoE-heavy encounters.
It does not improve your melee needle strikes, but it transforms her into a true spellcaster when paired with the right tools. If you’re after a spell-heavy build, Shaman Crest is hands down the most important pickup in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
