The Brilliant Sigil is a Horadric Jewel in Diablo 4, a new category of socketable items introduced in Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim. Unlike usual gems, these can only be inserted into Rings or Amulets, and each one provides a powerful passive bonus that affects your entire build.
Brilliant Sigil’s bonus increases the Infusions by 150%. That’s a massive jump for any Diablo 4 build that relies on Infusions—the elemental power-ups you attach to your Catalyst spells. Other than its unique bonus, like all Horadric Jewels, Brilliant Sigil also gives 160 Armor and 8% Resistance to All Elements. If you’re focused on Infusion builds, especially those revolving around elemental damage like Poison, Cold, or Fire, this jewel is practically mandatory.

How to Get the Brilliant Sigil Recipe
To craft the Brilliant Sigil, there is only one way, and that is to first unlock Horadric Jewel’s recipe, which happens through a specific mechanic in Season 9.
You have to find the Horadric Tomes for that, the consumable recipe books that drop from Horadric Strongrooms, a new seasonal event/area that’s only accessible at Torment I difficulty or higher. Every time you clear a Strongroom, you’ll have a chance to earn a Tome.
But Tomes unlock recipes at random. You won’t know which jewel recipe you’re going to get until you consume it. So there’s RNG involved, and you may need to farm Strongrooms multiple times until you finally get the Brilliant Sigil recipe.
Tip: Run Strongrooms frequently and stack up Tomes, you’ll need them not only for this jewel but for other powerful recipes too.
How to Craft the Brilliant Sigil
Once you’ve unlocked the recipe via Horadric Tome, it becomes available at the Horadric Lapidary, which is the crafting station for all these Horadric Jewels. You can find the Lapidary in any major town hub, and it’s marked clearly on your map during the seasonal content.
To craft the Brilliant Sigil, you’ll require the following materials:
- 3,000 Horadric Phials
- 15,000 Diamond Fragments
- 15,000 Skull Fragments
- 15,000 Topaz Fragments
Horadric Phials are the primary seasonal currency. You earn these when participate in Season 9 activities like Horadric Strongrooms, seasonal bosses, or weekly bounties. Gem Fragments (Diamond, Skull, Topaz), on the other hand, are obtained by salvaging regular gems or completing different endgame content.
Salvage your high-tier gems when you don’t need them or double up your farming in Nightmare Dungeons to rack them up. If you want to experiment with different jewels or try out multiple builds, I would recommend to stockpile these materials for their use.
Why Brilliant Sigil is Worth the Grind
When equipped, Brilliant Sigil supercharges your Infusions, which are already critical to Season 9’s gameplay loop. If you’re using Catalysts like Celestial Surge, Cosmic Anomaly, or Propulsion, pairing them with strong Infusions such as Glacial Nimbus or Smoldering Ember will become absolute lethal.
With Brilliant Sigil socketed, your infused spells not only hit harder but can even deactivate powerful monster effects like Explosive Affix, Vampiric Traits, or Summoner Buffs.
Further, once you unlock the Brilliant Sigil recipe, it becomes account-wide. So you can craft it and use it across all your characters in Season 9, such as for a Sorcerer focused on burn and ignite, a Poison Rogue for heavy damage. If your current or future build is leaning on Infusions to carry the bulk of your damage or utility, then Brilliant Sigil is 100% worth grinding for.
