How to Get Morior Invictus in Path of Exile (PoE) 2

Use the hard way or go easy, it's up to you.

If you want to get the Morior Invictus in Path of Exile 2, you’re in for some grind and maybe a few serious endgame boss battles. Morior Invictus Grand Regalia is a unique body armor that comes with some useful modifiers that can be amazing depending on your build. So, here’s how you can get it and what to expect from this piece of armor.

How to Get Morior Invictus in PoE 2

Morior Invictus isn’t something you’ll find during your early playthrough. It’s an exclusive drop reward from The Arbiter of Ash, one of the pinnacle bosses in the game. These pinnacle bosses are endgame enemies in the Atlas of Worlds and are among the toughest combats PoE 2 has arranged for you.

You encounter The Arbiter of Ash in The Burning Monolith, a location you’ll only gain access to once you’ve defeated three other bosses in the Atlas—those in the Stone, Copper, and Iron Citadels. All these enemies drop a key, and you’ll need all three to unlock the door to The Burning Monolith. Once inside, prepare for a difficult fight because this boss is no joke as I said above.

Though, Morior Invictus isn’t guaranteed to drop after beating The Arbiter of Ash. RNG (random loot generation) is a cruel but familiar beast in PoE, and you may need to farm this boss a few times before you see this armor loot.

If fighting with the boss over and over isn’t to your liking, you can check the trade market. Morior Invictus Grand Regalia is usually available for purchase in exchange for currency expect to pay at least 40 Exalted Orbs, though prices can fluctuate. It’s an easier option if you’re flush with currency and don’t want to grind, but it definitely takes away the satisfaction of earning it yourself by putting in the effort.

The fight against The Arbiter of Ash is no joke, and it’s a two-phase showdown that’ll test your reflexes and patience. In phase one, he uses caster abilities with attacks like fire orbs that spawn smaller fireballs all over the place. Stay mobile and dodge the balls while striking him. Keep an eye for his flame dash, where he scatters molten balls into the air. These explode on the ground in marked circles, and if you’re not standing in them when they detonate, you’ll get one shot. Don’t forget his fire wind attack—it covers most of the arena with fire, leaving just one safe spot. Find it fast, or you’re toast.

Phase two is even chaotic; the boss brings out a giant sword and uses melee attacks. The boss also changes the arena floor by absorbing either a blue or purple ball. If the floor turns icy and slows you down, find the purple ball and run into it to ignite the ground and fix it. If the floor is burning, do the opposite with the blue ball. Be aware of his deadly beam combos where molten balls drop along a huge energy beam. Dodge the beam, then jump into the marked circle to avoid the explosion. Keep the same practice of avoiding his powerful attacks to protect yourself and strike when possible.

Speaking of stats and modifiers, Morior Invictus has quite a few unique mechanics that make it a valuable addition to your inventory. The armor increases multiple defenses including Armor, Evasion, and Energy Shield, and provides additional benefits depending on the Runes or Soul Cores you socket into it.

Based on what you choose, it’s a way to level up your attributes, Elemental Resistances, Maximum Life, Maximum Mana, Item Rarity, or even Spirit. This flexibility makes it a highly customizable piece of gear you should obtain. That said, you should plan your build carefully because the chest piece has balanced stat requirements—51 Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence, which can sometimes force you to juggle your passive skill tree to meet them.

Although Morior Invictus is great in a lot of scenarios, it’s not always the best choice for every build. Some players have found it falling short compared to other high-energy shield chest pieces. It is mostly true for the builds that scale heavily off Energy Shield or Mana. Take an example, a well-rolled Hexer’s Robe with the Energy Shield gives better strengths. So before doing anything, see if Morior Invictus offers you what you are after that aligns with your playstyle and what you actually need to achieve with your character.
