Have opinions on the latest video game release or have deep takes in the gaming industry? Tips you wish someone told you before that one tough Elden Ring boss fight? Or maybe you’ve been playing Fortnite so long that you’ve even started analyzing map rotations in your dreams. If that sounds like you, we’d love to have you contribute to GamesRecon and write for us about what you want to share.

At GamesRecon, we’re a team of gamers who love video games and are always looking for more voices to join the conversation if you’re deep into League of Legends, still obsessed with Baldur’s Gate 3, or just discovered a gem of a horror title that deserves attention but no one is talking about it.

Why Write for Us?

We don’t think you need a press badge or ten years of experience to talk about games in a way that matters. If you have a fresh perspective, a love for the craft, are passionate, and thoughtful, and can string together a sentence that feels like you, that’s a solid start.

GamesRecon covers everything including gaming news, guides, expert reviews, commentary, long rants about nerfs, and even some weird side quests you probably missed in Skyrim. We cover all kinds of games – big-budget titles, indie hits, mobile time-killers, old-school classics, esports action, and everything in between. If you spend time on the battlefield in Call of Duty, dive into Genshin Impact dailies, or are still helping your friend find the Stolen Record Collection in Death Stranding 2, there’s room for your story here.

What You Can Write About on GamesRecon

Honestly? A lot. We love articles that feel personal, helpful, or plain fun with a conversational style. That might include:

  • Latest and trending gaming & eSports news and expert insights.
  • In-depth guides, walkthroughs, and tips (especially for new releases and games that people are actively playing or getting back into).
  • Takes and breakdowns on mechanics, updates, or community trends.
  • Opinion pieces about the culture and community behind games.
  • Comparisons and listicles with personality—if it’s funny or sharp, even better.
  • Underrated or indie game spotlights that deserve attention.

We cover everything from FPS games and RPGs to retro throwbacks and mobile time-sinks, so if it’s something you’re a fan of and have good knowledge of, we want to hear about it. So if you want to contribute to a gaming blog for fun or build your voice through a video game website like ours, you’re welcome here.

What We Expect From You – Post Submission Guidelines

We’re very chill as a team, but there are a few things that make the collaboration experience amazing, for you and the readers:

  • Be Yourself, but Be Clear: Write as you talk to your friends after a good game session, but remember, this is still going on a public site. No walls of text. No rambling into a void. Have a point, and get there with style.
  • Keep It Original: We don’t accept rewrites or AI fluff. Your work should be 100% yours as a human, with your personality and perspective baked in. If it’s been posted somewhere else, it’s not a blog piece to submit here.
  • Know Your Stuff: You don’t need to be a story expert or speedrunner, but please don’t submit a guide for a game you haven’t played. Passion shows, and readers can always tell.
  • Proofread, Please: We’re not grammar snobs, but your piece should be clean and easy to read. A quick spell check or read-through before sending makes a big difference.
  • Respect the Vibe: Avoid hate, gatekeeping, and toxic takes. Debate is welcome. Disrespect is not.
  • Pitch Smart: If you’re reaching out, pitch us something specific. “Can I write for you?” is cool, but “Hey, I’d love to write about the evolution of horror mechanics in indie games” is far more exciting.

We don’t pay contributors at the moment. This is a volunteer opportunity to share your voice, grow your portfolio, and get in front of thousands of readers.

How to Get in Touch

Have something to say about WoW raids, Fortnite skins, or why that one obscure racing game was secretly ahead of its time?

Send us a message at support@gamesrecon.com or drop us a note through our Contact Page. Let us know:

  • Who you are
  • What kind of stuff you’d like to write
  • A sample or two, if you’ve got one

We review all gaming blog submissions individually and love working with contributors who bring something fresh to the table.

So if you’re the kind of player who obsesses over patch notes, creates tier lists in their spare time, or wants to write about why Pokémon was different when you were a kid, we want to hear your voice. So go ahead. Send the pitch. We’re excited to read it. 🎮
