Power Cables are the rare crafting items in ARC Raiders that turn into a scavenger’s nightmare once you search for them intentionally. You’ll need them early for crafting and later to upgrade your Gear Bench to Tier 2, and because each cable can be salvaged into Wires, they’re always in demand. Despite being tagged as Electrical, Commercial, and Residential loot, most places where you should find them are often already looted by other Raiders when you arrive. So instead of wandering, you should hunt them in the specific locations where Power Cables have higher spawn.
What is the Use of Power Cables in ARC Raiders
Power Cables are rare loot items that fall under the technical loot category, and you mostly need them for:
- Upgrad Gear Bench Level 1 → Gear Bench Level 2 – (3× Power Cable, 5× Electrical Components, 5× Hornet Driver)
- Recycle Cables into Wires, which are required for multiple blueprints – (1 Cable → 3–4 Wires)
Because so many upgrades require Wires, Power Cables become a more important crafting shortcut. Even if you don’t need the items for now, you might need them anytime soon, so the Power Cables farm is one of the crucial tasks you have to do in ARC Raiders.
Best Places to Find Power Cables in ARC Raiders
Dam Battlegrounds
Dam Battlegrounds is by far the best map to farm Power Cables. Field Depot east of the Power Generation Complex is the best spot, and with good reason — it drops Power Cables more often than anywhere else. Inside the depot is a computer desk with multiple drawers, which usually spawns cables in back-to-back raids. You can most likely find one Power Cable in every run here, and maybe two in the same desk if luck favors you. There are also nearby sheds and small structures around the Power Generation Complex, where cable can be found in lootable containers. On Dam Battlegrounds, always check this depot first because it’s the closest thing ARC Raiders has to a “guaranteed” spot.
The second good Power Cables farm location is Field Depot between the Water Towers and the Electrical Substation southwest of the map. The substation rarely drops the item, but the depot next to it mostly does. Check desks, lockers, metal drawers, and the small shed beside the depot for the loot. The depot occasionally spawns nothing, but Power Cables are found here in many runs.
Another recommended location is the Testing Annex and the Electrical Tower (Red Lakes Balcony area). You won’t get consistent drops every time, but the Testing Annex computers, hallway cabinets, and Electrical Tower consoles can have cables. There’s also a Field Depot west of the Annex, where you can find Power Cable.
Spaceport
Spaceport has fewer high-yield spawns than Dam Battlegrounds, but two areas mostly give Power Cables:
- Fuel Control: This place is marked with the Electrical tag and has a lot of searchable storage containers and crates. The small Utility Crate southeast of Fuel Control is also worth checking.
- Control Tower A6: Control Tower desks, cabinets, and panels are the only good indoor spawns on the entire map, with a good chance to get cables across many runs.
Buried City
Santa Maria Houses & Plaza Rosa have Commercial and Residential tags, which means lots of lockers, drawers, and apartment cabinets throughout the areas. Loot volume is high there, so even though Power Cable spawns aren’t guaranteed, the sheer number of containers increases the chances. Further, go to Piazza Arbusto and loot around a nearby Utility Crate that can spawn cable. Space Travel & Research is also filled with tech-based loot containers, especially in the contested zone area.
Tip: Head to Grandioso Apartments and search all computers, desks, and storage cabinets. Good loot spawns here including Power Cables along with pink-tier materials and blueprints.
Considering raw spawns, you can also get Power Cables by recycling other electrical components. Items like cooling fans, heatsinks, industrial batteries, and some blue-tier tech scrap break down into Wires. The other way is to loot downed ARCs, as their internal parts have technical items in the same loot pool, though cables are rare.
