Following months of debate, it has now been confirmed that Konami is working on the Silent Hill 2 remake. Today at the Silent Hill Transmission, Konami showed off a three-minute trailer that gave viewers their first glance at the famed title showcasing its horror spots.

The teaser not only announced that Bloober Team would be managing production and the Unreal Engine would be used, but it also featured brief views of Pyramid Head and other memorable components from the main game. Masahiro Ito will design the game’s creatures, and Akira Yamaoka will again compose the title. Aside from the PlayStation 5, it will also be available on the PC via Steam.
First, there’s a close view of a cockroach, an awful fancy shot intended to demonstrate the game’s visuals, and then the character, James Sunderland, looks at himself in the mirror while a narration talks about his late wife. After this, we have typical pictures of Sunderland wandering through the mist, flashes of familiar situations, and, obviously, Pyramid Head lumbering in the rain.

A brief discussion with Ito followed, in which he seemed to refer to the leaks while discussing his strategy for avoiding questions from supporters on Twitter. Yamaoka discussed the difficulties of making the unique soundtrack for the actual game in a different debate. He also shared his appreciation for the story’s enduring popularity.

“The remake also has a new musical style, new challenges, and sound design and music that will be able to please the existing fans,” Yamaoka stated.
Additionally, Bloober Team has revealed that they would be recreating and updating the game. A new over-the-shoulder camera is only one of the improvements that belong to this production. Director Mateusz Lenart said, “To put it simply, our goal is to make everything that made the game a timeless classic but delve even deeper into the foggy streets of Silent Hill.”
Despite months of speculation, nothing concrete was already revealed about the supposed Silent Hill 2 remake. As such, it is Konami’s maiden entry into the franchise ever since the launch of Silent Hill: Book of Memories for PlayStation Vita nearly ten years earlier.
